The proclamation reads: The Proclamation Whereas, in accordance with estab- lished custom, the New Trier Com- mercial Association, comprising busi- ness men of New Trier Township, in- cluding the Village of Wilmette, has designated Wednesday, August 23, 1922, as New Trrier Day, and Whereas, New Trier Day, thus desig- nated is the occasion of a general pic- nic and outing for business people, their employees, and residents of the township and village. Therefore, I, Edward Zipf, as Presi- dent of the Village of Wilmette, do rec- ommend that Wednesday, August 23, 1922, be observed generally throughout | the village as a holiday.
