WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 1922 SOCIAL ACTIVITIES - ITEMS OF PERSONAL MENTION] Miss Helen Osgood Becomes Bride of John Stuart King HE First Congregational Church of Wilmette was the scene of a lovely wedding on Tuesday eve- . ning, when Miss Helen Kinyon Osgood became the bride of John Stuart King, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas 'C. King, of 792 Glencoe road, Glencoe. Rev. Stephen A. Lloyd read the service at eight-thirty o'clock. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Richard Osgood, wore a lovely gown of white satin and rose point lace and carried a shower bou- quet of bride's roses and lilies of the valley. Her veil of tulle was held in place by a band of orange blossoms. Miss Margaret Osgood, who was her sister's only attendant, wore a frock of green georgette and crepe de chine, and carried an arm bouquet of pink roses and larkspur. Mr. Philip G. King attended his brother as best man, and the ushers were Messrs. Dougal Kittermaster and Whipple Jacobs of Glencoe, Davis Foster of Beloit, Wis., J. C. Hostetter of Decatur, George Van Hagen, Jr., of Chicago, and A. Miles Wright of Ev- anston. The church proper and the parlors, in which the reception was held, were beautifully decorated with palms, ferns, ivy and the white gladiolus. Upon their return from an extended wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. King wiil make their home at the Sherldan Plaza until October first, when their apartment in Evanston will be ready for occupancy. Dr. Ernest Fre- mont Tittle will read the service in the presence of a small group of rela- tives and intimate friends, and there will be no attendants. After October 1, the young couple will make their home at 729 Hinman ave. Evanston. Festivities in honor of Miss Holgate during the week included a tea and shower on Wednesday afternoon given by Miss Elizabeth Cutler and Miss Dorothy Yonkers of Wilmette. --O-- Mr. Eugene Feuchtinger, A.M., the director of the Perfect Voice Institute of Chicago, has recently moved to 947 Oak street, Winnetka. At present there are studying voice culture with him the following students from out- of-town: Mr. J. W. Hubbel of Dallas, Tex., Mr. J. A. Huefle of Eustie, Neb, Mr. G. M. Smith of Santa Ana, Cal, Miss Katherine Keah of Oak Park, and Mrs. Gable, the director of the Palm Beach School of Higher Educa- tion. Mrs. Taylor is a graduate of the Garland school in Boston; Mr. Taylor is a former Northwestern student and a mem- ber of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. -- Yr Mrs. Charles Thompson and Miss Stella Thompson of Eaton Rapids, Mich., former residents of Winnetka, are visiting friends here and in Ev- anston. Miss Thompson is a gradu- ate of Northwestern university, and at present is teaching in one of the high schools in Eaton Rapids. --(-- Miss Kate Dwyer, 858 Elm street, who underwent an operation at St. Luke's hospital the fore part of last week, is reported to be convalescing nicely.
