The meeting, arranged through the initiative of the New Trier Commer- cial association, is to be quite import- ant since the expressions of the busi- ness men will, no doubt, have consid- erable bearing upon action that will be taken eventually in regard to se- curing adequate street lighting for |i the business district. Woolhiser to Attend H. L. Woolhiser Villager Manager of Winnetka, has consented to repre- sent the village at Monday's meeting. His presence will be of special sig- nificance in view of the fact that the Village Council recently received a petition signed by a few business men requesting early installation of orna- mental lights. Of particular interest, also is the announcement that Frank Woodman- see, an Illumination engineer, who has just designed an ornamental street lighting system for Maywood, will attend the Winnetka meeting and be prepared to answer questions of a technical nature. Every Winnetka business man is invited and urged to attend the meet- ing which begins at 8 o'clock. Buy U. S. Treasury Savings Certificates Now--Adams United States Treasury Savings Certificates purchased on and after Oct. 1 1922, will yield 4 per cent, ac- cording to announcement made this week by Elmer E. Adams, Winnetka Postmaster. Certificates puchased this September yield 414 per cent, Mr. Adams states. Prices on and after October 1, 1922, $20.50, $82.00, $820.00 WOULD TAG FOR CHARITY The Winnetka Village Council has received a request from the Children's Benefit League of Chicago for a per- mit to tag on Monday, October 16. The permit was granted with the un- derstanding that the city of Chicago also grants a permit on that day. Stanton Wilhite Comes in for His Share of Honors Stanton Wilhite, Winnetka photog- | rapher, who was formerly with the Moffett Studios in Chicago, recently at- tracted wide attention when his photo- rapher, who was formerly with the "Miss Indianapolis" at the Atlantic City beauty pageant, assisted material- ly in bringing to that charming young person two of the most coveted prizes at the notable contest. It's all a very interesting story. While connected with the Moffett Sudios, Mr. Wilhite photographed Miss Blossom. His work brought such com- plete satisfaction that Miss Blossom el- ected recently to make the trip from Indianapolis to Winnetka to have more pictures taken; they were done at Mr. Wilhite's nature studio, the fountain on the Kenilworth Village |Green. When the beauty contests got un- der way in the various cities of the land, some devoted friends submitted 'Miss Blossom's likeness photographed in Kenilworth). She was proclaimed "Miss Indianapolis." Later, at Atlan- tic City, she was the recipient of many additional honors. Mr Wilhite a few days ago received numerous newspaper clippings from the fortunate Miss Blossom. She ig determined to have the Winnetka pho- tographer share the honors. The Stanton Wilhite Studios are in the Boal building at 743 Elm street. Irwin Dames Heads Local Public Works Department Irwin Dames has been engaged as Superintendent of Public Works to succeed George Butler, who resigned on September 15 to go into private business. Mr. Dames is a graduate of the Uni- versity of Wisconsin. As a civil en- gineer he has had several years ex- perience in municipal work. He has been with Windes and Marsh since May of this year.
