The Sunday Evening ¢lub, one & the most important organizations of its type in the middle west, brings to Wilmette, each year, several of the best known leaders in the religious, political and cominercial fields. The club, which is maintained by popular subscription, enjoyed its most flour- ishing year last season, and plans are being made, it is said, for a season that will make the club second to none in the country. Music Program Feature A feature of the club programs are the special programs of music ar- ranged by Mrs. Marie Edwards Von Ritter, organist. Special Musicale eve- nings are a delightful departure which has proved remarkably successful. The Wilmette Sunday Evening club is under the excellent leadership of W. Frank McClure, who has served as its president for several years and is large- ly responsible for its remarkable de- velopment into one of the most potent influences for good in the community. If You Have Motor Driven Oil Burner, Tell Village The village would like to bring to the attendtion of all persons whose houses are heated with oil burning furnaces, the importance of register- ing this equipment with the village office, particularly if electric motors are used for operating the furnaces. It is occasionally necessary to shut off electric service in sections of the village for repair work and if the vil- lage office is informed it will notify persons depending on electric service for furnace operation, so that they may make preparation in advance for temporary shutdowns. You Skokie Band Fellers Had Better "Step On It" Skokie school had better "step live- ly" with its new band or Glencoe will beat the local boys "all to smash", is the warning issued from Director J. C. Schumacher's headquarters. Glencoe and Wilmette school bands are laboring diligently and prospects for the year are excellent. Skokie can do just as well, says Mr. Schu- macher, if an earnest effort is made right now. Royal Arcanum News Rainy weather and brief announce- ments didn't stop Winnetka Council 1131 of the Royal Arcanum from hav- ing a large attendance and snappy meeting last Monday. The Royal Ar- canum is alive--growing! We initiated a new brother last meeting and have five applications in our hands for membership. If you are a member, join our meetings, if not a member see our members and join. You won't regret it! Prospects of sport activity are not only planned but are now assured in this council this year. See the next issue of The Winnetka Talk for a re- port of the big Royal Arcanum meet- ing held in the Masonic Temple, Chi- cago, last Wednesday. Coal Dealer Is Reported Recovering From Illness C. F. Edinger, of the Edinger Coal company, 1301 Lake avenue, Wilmette, and a resident of Winnetka, was brought home from a Cleveland hos- pital Thursday of this week. Mr. Edinger was reported much improved following a stroke of paralysis several days ago. Mr. Edinger fell ill while in Cleve- land and was placed in a hospital in that city. Relatives here stated that he would recover.
