WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, OCTOBER 14, 1922 13 PHOTODRAMAS Enclosed Car Show at Lexington-Chicago Co' Automobile sightseers are to be At Neighboring Theaters treated to an "Enclosed Car Show" Chicago's north shore may be con- sidered particularly fortunate in hav- ing metion picture theaters the direc- tors of which are imbued with the purpese of presenting the best pic tures; films that shun trashy themes, and are educational as well as enter- taining. Selecting from a wide range of productions, these managers are en- abled to secure first run films each week direct from Chicago's loop. All productions of especial meyit and acclaim are first shown in the downtown theaters. Next they are issued to the foremost neighborhood theater. The north shore possesses three of these excellent houses, the Adelphi, Hoyburn and Howard. it cannot be said, without certainty of contradiction, that any one of these is the best, for each has its faithful followers and each is conducted after the manner most approved by the dis- {ing of "Blood and Sand," the latest criminating and generally well edu- | celebrated offering of Rodolph Valen- cated citizenship of this community. HOYBURN THEATER Needless to say, the Hoyburn has its customary big week of pictures in the offing. For this Saturday night's movie fan, Manager Sturtevant an- nounces the photodrama of Jack Lon- don's celebrated story, "The Son of the Wolf," also a picturization of "In the Days of Buffalo Bill," the great American history play. Thursday and Friday are Katherine MacDonald days. Miss MacDonald is a prime favorite with the Hoyburn audiences. "White Shoulders" is the vehicle. Bryant Washburn plays op- posite the beautiful Katherine. Saturday, October 21, features "The Silent Call," with Strongheart, the dog, which returns to the Hoyburn by request. Strongheart packed the Hoyburn several days last summer and the fans want to see him again in that same picture. The Hoyburn is located on Davis street, Evanston, in the heart of Evanston's shopping district. HOWARD THEATER Henry Newell and Lester Retchin, managers of the Howard, have some excellent productions in store for their patrons in the approaching week. Sunday, October 15, starts the -pro- gram off in impressive fashion with the presentation of Dustin Farnum in "The Yosemite Trail". Monday and Tuesday, October 16 and 17, show "A Fool There Was".
