SY WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, JANUARY 20, 1923 13 PHOTO DRAMAS HOYBURN THEATRE Marion Davies in "When Knight- hood wag in Flower," will be the big attraction at the Hoyburn Theatre, Davis street, Evanston, beginning Monday, January 22, and continuing through Wednesday, January 24. This world-famous romance, depicted in a million dollar setting of dazzling splendor, is characterized as '"en- chanting with beauty." It is consid- ered by many critics the masterpiece of the screen. Harrison Ford and Helen Jerome Eddy will provide entertainment at the Hoyburn on Thursday and Friday, January 25 and 26 in the interesting drama, "When Love Comes." Saturday morning, January 27, will be the occasion of another of the pop- ular Children's morning shows at the Hoyburn. "Aladdin and the Won- derful Lamp" will be the attraction for the youngsters at two showings-- 9:30 and 11 a. m. On Saturday afternoon and evening Hoyburn patrons will see Herbert Rawlinson in the picturization of Richard Harding Davis' great novel, "The Scarlet Car." ADELPHI THEATRE "When Knighthood was 1m Flower," starring beautiful Marion Davies in the role of the madcap princess, will be seen at the Adelphi for three days beginning Sunday, January 21. Lyn Harding, the English actor-manager, well known for his impersonations of King Henry VIII, was brought over from London to portray the character, and he has done it with remarkable ef- fectiveness. "Brothers Under the Skin," will show at the Adelphi on Wednesday and Thursday, January 24 and 25. "When Love Comes," starring Helen Jerome Eddy and Harrison Ford, will be the Adelphi attraction on Sunday, January 27. The story aspires to answer the question, "Should a Girl Propose?" Thomas Meighan, in '"Manslaught- er," will be seen at the Adelphi on Monday, January 28. HOWARD THEATRE Charles Jones in "The Footlights' Ranger" will head the Howard special bill on Sunday, January 21. Beginning Monday, January 22, and continuing through Thursday, Jan- uary 25, Thomas Meighan will enter- tain Howard fans with "Manslaugh- ter," said to be his greatest screen achievement. Howard patrons are informed that Tom Mix will arrive at that theater on Tuesday, February 6, to remain two days with his latest smashing success, "Romance Land." "When Knighthood was in Flower" played to tremendous crowds at the Howard this week. There were five big days of the thrilling drama of romance and intrigue. Music continues tv play an import- ant part in Howard programs. The Howard Orchestra Supreme never fails to give a splendid account of itself both in its "playing to the pic- tures," and its specialties. Miss Anita Sadler ranks among the most accomplished organists in Chi- cago and vicinity. Jottings From New Trier High In the Assembly Friday Mr. Barnett of Glencoe mads a very enthusiastic talk on "Americanism." Afterwards he announced the winners of the Annual Barnett prize for the Civics essay. The first prize was awarded to Dwight Chapman of Wilmette for his essay. "How Shall We Solve the Industriai Riddle," and the second to Hildur Ouse of Wilmette for her essay, "Edu- cation of the Immigrant." Honorable mention was given to Robert Kortez of Glencoe for his discussion, "Some Aspects of the Labor Situation." Both Dwight Chapman and Robert Kortez were on New Trier's debating team which won three out of four de- bates on the labor question last year. Commenting on Dwight Chapman's 1 essay, Professor Arthur Nethercot of { Northwestern said hat it was as mas- 'terly as any production of a college (senior.
