Musical programs are the rule in churches, clubs and in the homes. The mass meeting in Community House gymnasium Sunday evening, February 25, at 8 o'clock, will close the observances of Music Week and in this various groups in the commun- ity will have a part. Many Groups To Help Among those participating are: A Capella Choir, Christ Church Choir, Sacred Heart Church Choir, Men's Chorus, Camp Fire Girls, Boy Scouts New Trier High school Girl's Glee club, Scandinavian-Americans, Brit- ish Arhericans. Mrs. Cooley, Soloist Mrs. Asa G. Cooley will be the solo- ist, Mrs. Arthur M. Dean is the offic- ial painist and the entire program will be in charge of Mrs. Burton H. At- wood. Those who play instruments are asked to assist in the community singing as an orchestra impromptu The Community Sing, which was held preceding the last concert of the New Trier Orchestral association Tuesday of this week, was a great success. Many expressions regarding a more general observance of Music Week along the north shore were heard during the intermission and after the program, Play Intra-Mural Games In School Basketball League Games in the North Shore Country Day Day-Skokie basketball league . last week were confined to contests be- tween Teams of the same schools. In the heavyweight division the Skokie Sioux fell before the attack of their schoolmates in the Seneca quin- tet. The final score was 25 to 19. At the same time that the Senecas were trimming the Sioux the North Shore Pirates were defeating the North Shore Sharks in a sharp tussle. The Pirates finally nosed out their op- ponents by a 29 to 26 count. All the children of the school are to have their turn at the old fashioned sleigh ride. WINNETKA Phone 44 "If Electrical and Good We Sell It" Play, "Making of the Flag" Feature at Horace Mann Children of Horace Mann school gave an impressive Washington's Birthday program at the school Wed- nesday of this week, in which the fea- ture was a Flag play entitled "The Making of the Flag," presented by fifth grade pupils. Included in the cast of characters was William Truesdale, as Gen. George Washington; Keijo Frilund, as Ro- bert Morris; Winifred Dewar, as Betsy Ross. The scene was laid in Philadelphia in the year 1777. Augmenting the play was assembly singing of "America," "The Star Spangled Banner," and "O Beautiful Banner." The entire assembly also re- peated the pledge of allegiance to the Flag.
