Mrs. Anita Willetts Burnham will tell her experiences in Kurope to those who do not care to play cards. There will be music afterwards and tea will be served. The program con- sisted of solo numbers by Mrs. Louise Kreiter, Mrs. Gertrude Thurston and Dr. Davies Lazear, with Miss Estelle Heinzelman at the piano. Lee Adams caused much hilarity by performing on his imported Boom-bas, this being an entire orchestra combined in one instru- ment, which he recently received from Germany. Mrs. C. E. Karnopp gave two delightfully entertaining readings. As a very special favor, Rudolph Valentino and his bride, in costume, (impersonated by Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hollister), con- sented to do some of their most entranc- ing skits. moved into the Assembly Room where Mr. W. F. Groene entertained with his radio. : Same new residents in this locality were present and the Oak Street Circle takes this opportunity to welcome Mr. and Mrs. Carl Braun of Oak street and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Johnson of 873 Cherry street. Sr The Entre Nos club arranged an in- teresting program for its meeting on Wednesday of this week. Its members, fifty-eight in number, met for luncheon at the Amber Pie Inn, where following luncheon, a short business meeting took place. Later the club attended en masse, the matinee performance of "Blossom Time". Since its organization five months ago, the club has elected officers. Mrs. Har- land Fankboner, of Winnetka, is pres- ident, Mrs. Daniel Ball, of Winnetka, vice-president, Mrs. S. Fuermann, of Wilmette, second vice-president, Mrs. Chalmers Hallis, of Winnetka, treasurer, and Mrs. Oscar Miller, of Winnetka, secretary. The hostesses included Mrs. R. E. Butler, of Winnetka, Mrs. Edward Bixom, of Chicago, Mrs. George S. Gordon, of Winnetka, Mrs. H. J. Fer- guson, Mrs. Roy Graham and Mrs. Harry Smott, of Chicago, and Mrs. Harry I. Timmons, of Kenilworth. ---- Stephens Leacock's "The Drama As I See It" will be read by Mrs. Frederick Dickinson at the morning meeting of the Woman's Society of the Congregational church on Wed- nesday, April 4. Luncheon in charge of Mrs. Louis Sherman will be served at 12:15 o'clock. Following luncheon, a ten minute talk on "The Other Mother's Girl" by Mrs. Minnie Chap- man of Chicago and a musical pro- gram by Mrs. William McAdams, pi- anist, Mrs. Floy Little Bartlett, violin- ist, and Miss Kathryne Greene, so- prano. -- An invitation is extended through Mrs. Frank Fuller, president of the Winnetka Garden club to attend a free lecture at 3 o'clock on Wednes- day afternoon, April 4, at Fullerton Hall, Art Institute. The subject will be "Gardening in the Hawaiian Is- lands," given by Mrs. Louise S. Hub- bard, the well known landscape ar- chitect of Winnetka, who has recent- ly returned from zoning these islands, planting many of their beautiful es- tates. Club mem- bers are urged to co-operate and make this last meeting of the Art and Liter- ature department a great success. Eee w--re Mrs. Anthony French Merrill will give the last of her series of lectures on Cur- rent Events, next Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, in the Sunday school room of the Glencoe Union church. Mrs. Merrill plans to give another series shortly after the opening of the new year, the lectures to be held in the morn- ing instead of the afternoon in the future. ---- The New Trier Circle will meet at the home of Mrs. James C. Stevenson, 138 Woodlawn avenue, on Tuesday, April 3. This will be an all day meet- ing and members are asked to come promptly at 10:30 o'clock. A chop suey luncheon will be served at noon, followed by an address by Dr. Ida Laird Barroll. The grab bag will again be featured at this meeting. ---- The Pine Street Circle announces a card and dancing party at Community House to be held on Wednesday eve- ning, April 4. The circle members and their friends are cordially invited. A small admission fee will be charged, the money to be used for the summer outing of the Chicago Commons chil- ren. Oa Since the whole community at some time or other uses the silver at Com- munity House it is hoped that all the women of the village will make a special effort to contribute American Family soap wrappers before April 9. These wrappers may be left at the office and will help to replenish the supply of spoons. ---- A meeting of the Garden Club of Winnetka was held Thursday after- noon, March 29, at the residence of Mrs. Merrit Starr on Prospect ave- nue. Mr. Ralph Rodney Root, noted landscape architect and author of many books on landscape gardening, gave an interesting lecture. --0-- Mrs. A. Copeland has returned from the south where she spent six weeks in North and South Carolina. Mr. F. W. Copeland, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. K. Copeland, who started around the world November 25, is now in China and will return home June 1. --_--Q-- Robert Andrews, 785 Willow street, is attending Mr. Snyder's Boys' Out-of- Door School at Captiva Island, Fla.
