The ceremony took place in the Robert Cluett garden in Hubbard Woods at four o'clock last Saturday afternoon, uniting Miss Betty Scott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Scott, in marriage with Edward Kenneth Welles, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward P. Welles, of Evanston. A natural altar of flowers and shrubs approached by a low flight of steps, huge urns of fruit on either side and a view of the lake in the background, formed a lovely setting. The bride's gown was of white tulle over satin, with a long tulle veil bordered with point lace, a family heirloom. She carried a shower bouquet of lilies of the valley, white roses and gardenias. Her sister, Miss Barbara Scott, wore orchid chiffon, with a scarf of shaded blue and a Grecian head band. The eight bridesmaids, gowned alike in peri- winkle blue chiffon, with scarfs of shaded lavendar and Grecian head- dresses, were Mrs. Laurence Van Ingen of New York City, Miss Francés Coonley, Miss Clarissa Donnelley, Miss Catherine Rehm, Miss Frances Robbins, Miss Katherine Strawn, Miss Beatrix Thorne and Miss Marion Walker. : !
