WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, JANUARY 12, 1924 Contracts are being let and work isl expected to be started in the very near future on the club house of the Sunset Ridge Golf course west of Winnetka. The club house, as shown by the ac- companying picture, is a low, rambling story and a half structure of timber and stucco. All modern conveniences necessary to complete a first class club are provided. The lounge which occu- pies the north section of the building is a large, spacious room with a large fireplace and surrounded on two sides by a wide, open screened porch which commands an unbroken view of the course. Adjoining the lounge and the porch is a handsome dining room ade- quate to take care of its membership. The men's locker room is the main fea- ture of the club, it being designed in the form of a "Y," bath accommoda- tions in the center are accessible to all the lockers. The design of the locker room affords excellent ventilation and light in every corner of the room. Ad- joining the men's locker room will be a men's grill. The women's quarters will consist of dressing rooms, locker rooms and bath accommodations. BEHAVIOR COUNCIL Pupils assume responsibility in mat- ters of behavior at the Gordon School, Cleveland. A "behavior council," con- sisting of a representative of each room in the school, formulates what- ever rules it considers necessary for safety and order. Guards elected by the pupils enforce these rules, and in cases of extreme misbehavior the teachers may be consulted. Of Interest Only | to Our Advertisers To-day we draw up a new Full- Page Roll of Honor. Qur 1923 Roll was a long one. Dur- ing the year dozens of our most prom- inent and successful merchants pub- lished Full-Page Ads. These adver- tisements have made them more prominent and successful. We are glad to know that we are having our part in the growth of the North Shore communities. The 1924 Roll will be a longer one. Increase in population, enterprise, and civic spirit will make it necessary for more business institutions to tell their messages in more attractive, more commanding form. As our commer- cial enterprises become metropolitan in scope, they will need FULL-PAGE ADVERTISEMENTS. S. Beaman, architect, and the work and construction is being handled by R. D. Huszagh, architect. The club's membership of 250 is full. The financial condition of the club is reported to be in a very satisfactory condition. The golf course is finished and the formal opening of the club house and grounds is expected to be held on Decoration Day. Many com- pliments have been received from pro- fessionals and well known amateurs on the course and there is little doubt but that Sunset Ridge will be a fortunate addition to the number of championship courses in and about Chicago. The an- nual meeting of the membership of the club was held a short time ago at which time the same directors and officers were elected for the ensuing year.
