Mr. Robert Ambrosius, the cellist, is well-known to music lovers of Chicago where he has appeared as soloist with the Symphony orchestra and in ensem- ble with Harold Bauer. New garments for sewing will be ready at ten o'clock. Mrs. Bartlett, who is a resident of Winnet- ka, and is well known in north shore musical circles will broadcast a pro- gram from 5 until 5:30 o'clock. Mrs. Guy Stuart Bailey of New York city, formerly of Winnetka, will sing the songs. --0-- Mrs. James I. Houghteling, of 531 Prospect avenue, has been elected as an honorary director of the Infant Wel- fare Society of Chicago, according to an announcement made last week by Mr. Lucius Teter, president of that so- ciety. This honor has been conferred upon Mrs. Houghteling because of her long and faithful services as director of that organization. Her daughter, Mrs. Arthur F. Tuftle, 699 Walden road, will take her place as director. --Q-- Mrs. S. M. Page Rees of Linden avenue, has as her guests, her sister, Mrs. Robert Peniman Lewis and small son, Edward Caldwell, while Ensign Lewis is south with the Pacific fleet. Mrs. Lewis expects to leave in sev- eral weeks for Washington on her way to New York to meet Ensign Lewis in March. After spending sev- eral months in the east, Mrs. Lewis will join her husband on the west coast. -- Ce Miss Virginia Whitehead of San Francisco, who for the past week has been visiting her sister, Miss Douglass Whitehead, supervisor of dramatics at the Horace Mann school, left Tues- day for New York, for a short visit after which she will return to Win- netka for a few days before going to her home in California. Or Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Arnold, for- merly of Winnetka, announce the mar- riage of their daughter, Laura Amalia, to Mr. Harold G. Austin of Boise, Idaho, Saturday, January 12, at the Rogers Park hotel.
