-- WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, MARCH 1, 1924 I -- HOLD CAUCUS HERE MONDAY Annual Meeting to Select Village Candidates An- nounced for Next Week ALL VOTERS INVITED Discussion of Municipal Af- fairs Also Planned Winnetka's annual Village Caucus, an institution of long standing in the community which is the instrument for the selection of candidates for var- ious village offices, is to be held this year on the evening of Monday, March 3, at Community House beginning at 8 o'clock. Every voter in the village is urged to attend this meeting and join in the discussions, since the annual caucus is not merely a nominating event but the occasion each year of a critical review of village affairs and an out- look, as well, into the future, a time when _ certain policies relating to municipal administration are clearly defined and put into effect. Officers Pen Letter In a letter addressed to voters of the village this week over the signatures of William B. Moulton, chairman, and William P. MacCracken, secretary, of the Village Caucus (named at the last caucus), attention to the caucus and approaching Village election is direct- ed as follows: "On: April 1, 1924, there will be elected four village trustees, one vil- lage treasurer, one village clerk, one village marshal and collector and three library trustees for the Village of Winnetka. "You are invited to attend a meet- ing to consider nominations for these offices, to be held at the Community House on Monday evening, March J, at 8 P. M. Non-Political Slate "It is the aim of this meeting to bring together representative citizens from all parts of the village who wish to maintain a non-political administra- tion of our village affairs by able and disinterested officials such as we have enjoyed for many years. Your cooper- ation is needed and you are urged to be present. You are also requested to bring with you any of your friends or ra . neighbors, particularly RE oiicits of our village believed by .you to be in sympathy with "the abjeets of the meeting. a "The duty of calling this meetin- was placed upon us by a similar meet 'ng held last year."
