"If you are interested in saving lives of babies in Chicago give to the Win- netka branch of the Infant Welfare socetiy. Service Th-t Ccun?s "It's the doctor at the conference who tells mother what baby needs to eat. But mother finds it hoard to fol- low instructions. Everything is so different in Chica~o from what it is in Italy: the weather, the grocery, the stove. Jesides she isn't used to bothering about measuring and cook- ine and the care of milk. But baby gets thinner and thinner, and other Conference babies look so rosy. And then, one day, mother wakes up, and does exactly what nurse has been showing her so long how to do. Ard then when she goes to the Infant Wel- fare conference baby shows a decided gam! Cuts Death Rate "The death rate of Chicagn habia under two is about 54 to a 1,000, of infant Welfare babies about 14 to a 1,000. The Infant Welfare society helps, to make Chicago a healthier city. The entire performance will be accompanied by the church or- 'hestra of 20 pieces and will be in full costume with properties and stage set- tings. The music dramatization and staging is under the direction of Orville Borchers, present director of music at the church. "The dramatization of a sacred ora- torio is a very noble art and we are anxious to give it a big start on the north shore," says Mr. Borchers. "It has a distinct place and value among people of religious culture and we are anxious to have the largest support. The great story of 'Esther' is a worthy start and is most interesting and enjoyable when dramatized." "According to present indications," he continues. "Church people are realizing the real value in this work and hold the work of the Methodist chorus in high csceem."" Tickets are selling rapidly and it is advisable to buy eariy.
