The New Trier Citizens League, incorporated in 1913, is a non-partisan organization patterned after the Municipal Voters League of Chicago. Its purposes declared in its charter are '"T'o cause citi- zens of integrity, public spirit and efficiency to be nomin- ated and elected to office in the Township of New Trier . .: to compel interest to be paid by all public offi- "cials upon public funds in their hands; to compel public officials to comply with the law respecting fees and salaries."
