Lenten Organ Recital At St. Luke's Church The seventh of the North Shore se- ries of organ recitals on the great organ of St. Luke's church, Evanston, is an- nounced for Tuesday evening, April 15, at 8 o'clock. It will be a Lenten pro- gram given by Herbert E. Hyde, mem- ber of the American Guild of Organists and superintendent of the Chicago Civ- ic Music Association; assisted by Wal- ter I. Kraeckmann, basso. The program includes two of Mr. Hyde's own com- positions "Spring" and "Lullaby," the latter in manuscript; his transcription for the organ of Simonetti's violin melody "Mardrigale;" several other spring songs; Thiele's brilliant technical piece "Chromatic Fantasie;" Foote's "Pater Noster" (in which the echo organ is used) ; and the "Funeral March on the Death of a Hero" from Beethoven's "Eroique Symphony."
