16 WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, MAY, 17, 1924 Kenilworth Happenings _ The marriage of Miss Blanche Mor- itz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theo- dore E. Moritz of Warwick road, will take place on Saturday evening, May 18, at the Kenilworth Union church at 8:30 o'clock. Mrs. Robert Wall of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, will be the matron of honor, and the bridesmaids attend- ing Miss Moritz will be Miss Eliza- beth Merrill, Miss Patty Hamm, of Kenilworth; Miss Quinn Jackson of Evanston, and Miss Avery Davidson and Miss Juliette Clark of Madison. Paul Bell of Oskosh, brother of the bridegroom, will be best man, and ushering will be Robert Wall, of Osh- kosh; Edwin Chapman, Charles Striech and Robert Thompson, of Ma- dison, and Bruce Mainland, of Chicago. Several parties have been given for Miss Moritz during the week. On Monday, Miss Quinn Jack- son entertained at tea at her home. Miss Elizabeth Merrill was hostess at a shower and bridge at her home, 420 Essex road, on Wednesday, and on Thursday a luncheon and linen shower was given by Miss Patty Hamm at her home on Sheridan road. This evening Mr. and Mrs. Moritz are giv- ing the bridal dinner at the Drake hotel. ---- Mr. Barrett Spach, son of Dr. and Mrs. A. B. Spach, sailed from New York, last week, for Paris, where he will study under Cortat during May and June. Mr. Spach was one of the students of the David Mainnes school to receive scholarship in the Cortat classes, and in courses in the FE'cole Normale de Musique. He has been studying at the Mainnes school for four years, and during the last two years he has been a member of the faculty. Through the courtesy of the Department of Fine Arts of the French government, all concerts and theaters are' open without admission charge, tol these 'young American students. Dr. and Mrs. Spach and Miss Spach will join Mr. Spach later in the summer, : The Kenilworth Union church gave a large dinner at the church guild room on Wednesday evening, May 14, at 7 o'clock. -- Dr. and Mrs. Rufus Stolp, 336 Ab- bottsford road, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Eliza- beth, to Otis L. Heath of Wilmette. The announcement was made at a luncheon at the Stolp home on Sat- urday. --C The Home and Garden club met at the home of Miss Barbara Erwin on 'Monday afternoon, May 12. Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Richards, 638 Abbottsford road, Mr. and Mrs. John O'Connor, 149 Abbottsford road, and Mr. and Mrs. Psammuellor of Kenilworth, left for Louisville, Ken- tucky, on Wednesday, May 14, to see the Kentucky Derby which is taking place on Saturday afternoon. They will remain in Louisville for one week. --O-- The members of the Kenilworth club are giving a remarkable vaudeville show this evening at 8 o'clock. The program will be very good. The Misses Florence and Beatrice Pease, 320 Leicester road, rae directors; Mr. LeRoy Prince of Evanston is the man- ager, and Miss Dorothy Foresman will be at the piano. em Qn Mrs. Munger, of Chicago, arrived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alex S. Joslin, 240 Essex road, on Monday, to remain for two weeks, until Mr. and Mrs. Joslin return from Battle Creek, Michigan, where they have been taking a month's rest. ---- Mrs. Julie Shepherd, 315 Kenilworth avenue, entertained at luncheon and bridge at her home on Thursday, May 8. Mr. and Mrs. Blayney Jones an- nounce the marriage of their daugh- ter, Ida Ruth, to Ralph Hayden, on Saturday, May 10, at Evanston.
