WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, JUNE 14, 1924 "CHIEF" DAVIES NOW AT BOYS' CAMP SITE "Chief" J. W. F. Davies and Mrs. Davies left for Hamlin Lake, Mich., last Monday. The "Chief" has gone to su- pervise the preparations necessary for the annual Community House camp there, before the boys arrive on June 24. Everything will be in readiness then for the best boys' camp yet held there, and as the time draws near for the youngsters to leave, their joy and an- ticipation increases and they are check- ing off the days now until they head for camp on June 23. While there are still a few places left, the ranks are filling rapidly now, and it is probable that 30 happy youngsters will soon be making the hills of Lake Hamlin echo with their joyous shouts. Those who will have charge of the group going to camp are, Dr. George Eisenbrand, Richard Goble, Jack Hamil- ton and Walter Niemann. Sunday Club Announces Monthly Beach Parties The last meeting of the season of the Winnetka Sunday Evening club, Sunday, June 8, assumed the form of a beach party at the private beach on the Ayres Boal premises where a supper, served by the entertainment committee of the club, was enjoyed. Following the "eats" the members en- tered into games, preceding a song-fest and story-telling hour around the camp fire, with the principal feature of the evening a program given by a clever imitator. The evening was so successful that the members decided to meet once a month during the summer, instead of suspending activities entirely until au- tumn. Accordingly, it was voted to have a beach party the first Sunday of each month for the next three months, with a different volunteer chairman in charge of each festivity. Miss Mary A. King will make the arrangements for the next meeting, scheduled {for July 6 at the Boal beach. "Don't forget to come and help us have a jolly time," is the challenge of the club to residents of Winnetka. Skokie School Instructor Honored by Girls' Class A luncheon was held in honor of Miss Louise Mohr, Thursday noon, by the girls of the Skokie school. This was to show; the appreciation of the girls for Miss Mohr's attention to their basket- ball games and other services.
