The evening's entertainment will be furnished by a dinner-dance. Sunset Ridge club is having its regular dinner and dance this evening, with another on Monday night, following the day's pro- gram of special golf matches. Mary Otto Honored at Garden Party NFORMATION has been received that Winnetkans will appreci- ate, as it is a tribute to a pretty American girl, a resident of the village. At a garden party given recently at Buckingham Palace, London, in honor of the American lawyers attending the Bar association meeting in England, Miss Mary Ott of Winnetka was presented to Queen Mary. Miss Ott is still in Europe with her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John Nash Ott of Indian Hill road. Luncheon for Judith Boddie September 23 LREADY plans are under way to make the coming fall and winter seasons alluring to the attractive young girls who will soon be introduced to society. One of these, Miss Judith Boddie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Boddie, who will make her debut September 20, will be guest of honor at the debutante luncheon that Mrs. William Ogden Green and her daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Car- penter, are giving at Indian Hill club, Tuesday, September 23. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Stanton and their two sons have just come home from a" '"Paclc trip" in the Rocky mountains. They set out from Cody, Wyoming, and tramped, with luggage and supplies packed on horses. Mrs. Stanton and one of her sons spent part of the time in Coronado with Mrs. Stanton's mother, Mrs. Francis E. Rew. --Q-- Morris Greeley of 655 Maple avenue, is spending Labor Day with the Samuel A. Greeleys at Camp Wipig- aki, a Winnetka camp made up of the following young married people: the Greeleys, the William Elliots, the Roswell Masons, the Walter Strongs, the William McKenzies and the Zeisses. --_---- Mr. and Mrs. Henry Leach of 883 Cherry street, have had as their guests, Mrs. Leach's brother, Major J. B. An- derson and his bride who was former- ly Miss Sue Palmer of Columbia, Georgia. Major and Mrs. Anderson spent a week in Winnetka, then went on to Fort Leavenworth, their future home. ---- Mrs. Lewis Day has just returned to Winnetka after a ten weeks' cruise with Mr. and Mrs. C. K. G. Billings. Miss Day, who has been having a delightful stay in England and Scot- land, is now in France. She will not return to her home until the latter part of September. ---- Mrs. Prest is visiting her sister, Mrs. William Dale, 519 Ash street. Sev- eral affairs have been given for her by her former friends in the village, and Mrs. Dale has entertained for her on two afternoon occasions, her guests being Mrs. Prest's intimate friends. -- Mrs. Lee Adams of 926 Cherry street, entertained at luncheon on Fri- day for her mother, Mrs. Muench, of Olney, Illinois. In the evening, Mrs. Elmer Adams of 873 Oak street, gave a dinner for twelve guests in honor of Mrs. Muench. ---- Mr. and Mrs. Raymond E. Durham, 808 Auburn avenue, have been called home from the east by the illness of their little son. They were visiting Mrs. Durham's mother, Mrs. Robert Gregory, at her summer home in Manchester, Massachusetts. ---- Mr. and Mrs. Frederick W. Cope- land have just returned from Mack- inac Island, where they have been vacationing. Mrs. Frederick K. Cope- land will come back to Winnetka in about two weeks, after spending the summer in Maine. --Qp-- Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Weinstock of 630 Walden road, have motored to Marietta, Ohio, where they are visit- ing Mr. Weinstock's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Weinstock, for two weeks. --O-- Mr. and Mrs. Leon Maze and their son, William, left Saturday for their home at Great Neck, Long Island, after a visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fulton on Hill road. --Q-- Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Weinstock, 1005 Greenwood avenue, Hubbard Woods, are entertaining Mrs. Weinstock's brother, William Henricksen, of Pase- dena, for several weeks. -- Mr. and Mrs. C. A. G. Kuipers, 485 Elder lane, have just returned from a three weeks' trip through Canada and Nova Scotia. Mrs. William Gold Hibbard has just returned to her home on Willow street, after a delightful trip abroad. She sailed August 9, on the the Mau- retania, which made its record trip, landing in New York, August 14. Her journey took her first to Iceland. From there she sailed around the coast of the Scandinavian Peninsula, and visited in England before returning home. --_--Q-- By the first of the week, Mrs. Lowell Copeland will have both her son and daughter with her again. Townsend Copeland has just returned from a visit with Dr. and Mrs. Frank Blatchford at Desbarats, Canada, and Miss Betty will have come back from Forrest Lodge, Traverse Bay, where she has been the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell D. Follansbee. ---- Mr. and Mrs. William Morse of 433 Provident avenue, will leave Sunday for their summer home, the "Oriole," at Pelican Lake. They have, as their guests for two weeks, Miss Irene Fritch of Jacksonville, Illinois; Miss Luella Swartz of River Falls, Illinois; Wesley Carey of Winnetka; Miss Della Irwin and Frederick Collins of Milwaukee. --_--0-- Mr. and Mrs. Forrest MacGibbon of 738 Lincoln avenue, have as their guest, Mrs. MacGibbon's cousin, Rob- ert Owens, of San Francisco. On Sat- urday Mr. Owens and Mrs. MacGib- bon are leaving for New York state to attend a family reunion. Mrs. Mac- Gibbon will remain there for three weeks or a month visiting relatives. ---- The Cherry Street circle of the Sacred Heart parish met on Friday at the home of Mrs. William Schwall, of 979 Willow road. The next meet- ing, a purely social gathering, will be held at the residence of Mrs. John Schafehen, of 846 Cherry street, on Friday, September 5. --O-- Mr. and Mrs. R. Floyd Clinch and their daughter, Miss Margaret, of Glenwood avenue, are not returning home until the latter part of Septem- ber. They left for abroad the last of June, and have been in England, Scotland and Paris. --_---- There will be a special meeting of the 'Winnetka chapter (U. D.) O. E. S. in the Temple on Friday, Septem- ber 5, at 7:30 o'clock in the evening. The regular meeting will also be held there on Monday, September 8, at the same hour. ----Q-- Mrs. Albert Pick, Jr., 658 Cherry street, is visiting in Seattle, where she went three weeks ago with her grandmother. Mr. Pick expects to join her and return with her in two or three weeks. ---- Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Taylor, have returned to their home, 314 Ridge av- enue, after a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Harry T. Barnum at their summer home, "Christmas Tree Cabin," Black Oak Lake, Land o' Lakes, Wisconsin. ---- Mr. and Mrs. Harry Deilly of 470 Provident road, are motoring through Michigan on a two weeks' trip. They will stop at" Lake Hamlin for awhile before returning home. --Y-- Mr. and Mrs. Charles McNie and their children are spending two weeks in northern Wisconsin. i Mrs. L. E.
