The Tina Mae lecture course will resume its meetings this year every fourth Tuesday in the month, at 2:30 o'clock. A special program has been planned for the opening meeting which will take place October 28, at the home of Mrs. Sylvan Hirschberg, 175 Hazel avenue, Glencoe. Miss Mae, a teacher of voice at the Starret school on Drexel boulevard, will give a series of talks on the Chicago Sym- phony orchestra, discussing the in- struments, some of the selections, and items of general musical interest. Mrs. Oriana Abbot Jennison and her daughter, Blanche, will give a musical program at the opening meeting. Mrs. Jennison is on the faculty of the Glen Dillard Gunn school, Lake Shore crive, Chicago, and her daughter is an accomplished musician. --Q-- The Woman's society were enter- t~ined at luncheon at the Rudolph Matz hall, Community House, on Wednesdav. A delichtfnl musical program followed the luncheon. Mrs. Guy Stuart Bailey sang two groups of songs, Miss Ruth A. Tracy played the piano, and Mrs. Valona Brewer, Mrs. Flov Little Bartlett, and Mrs. Rotert Kingerv, made a charming violin trio, assisted by Mrs. Arthur Dean. Their program was "Idyll," bv Karl Hofmann, and the "London- berry Air," arranged by Fritz Kreisler. These four artists played at the North Shore Country Day school on Thurs- day. ---- On Wednesday evening, October 15, at 7 o'clock, there will be an informal dinner at Community House for the members and their husbands. There will be music by Benson's orchestra for danc- ing, and also tables for cards for those who do not care to dance. Further notice of the dinner will be given, but members are urged to save the date. --(-- The North Shore Vassar club will meet on Monday, October 6, at 2:30 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Theodore P. Stanwood, 721 Foster street, Ev- anston. At this meeting a report of the rummage sale will be given and Mrs. Andrew MacLeish of Glencoe will give an interesting account of the opening of the new Alumnae house on the college campus. --_--Q-- Mrs. Harrison Mettler and her daughter, Miss Barbara, have return- ed from their trip abroad. Miss Bar- bara has gone back to Smith college, and Mrs. Mettler is leaving to spend i two months with her mother in Clin- ton, Illinois. Dr. Mettler and Miss Marcella are remaining in Paris for a short time. --Q-- Miss Catherine Lay, 1408 Edgewood lane, Winnetka, returned this week from a five weeks' visit in the west. After stopning at Yellowstone Park, she was the guest of relatives and friends in Pasadena and Hollywood. On returning she stopped at the Grand Canyon and Denver. ---- Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin F. Lang- worthy returned Monday to their home at 832 Bryant avenue, after three months in Europe. Mr. Lang- worthy went abroad to attend the American Bar association meeting held in London. --_Q-- The Current Events Class will meet at the home of Mrs. Norman F.
