Scharf of 509 Cherry street, a former New Trier student, has heen appointed secretary of the Girl Reserves work at Elgin, Illinois, under the auspices of the Y. W. C. A. The work is carried on in the gram- mar and high schools of the city, and under her direction, fourteen groups have been organized and are doing good work. She recently returned from the an- nual conference of secretaries held at Peoria, where she represented her department. There will be a supper served at the club before the dance. F.
