WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 29, 1924 13 Handiwork of oa to be on Sale in Kenilworth HE last few weeks before Christ- mas are crowded with sales of attractive gifts needed to com- plete the lists of busy shoppers. The purpose for these varies. On Tuesday, December 2, the Vocational Society of Shut-ins will hold a sale in Kenil- worth at the home of Mrs. Harry Vissering, 257 Kenilworth avenue. Given annually, this affair provides the opportunity for the sale of lovely articles made by handicapped men and women who desire to aid in their own support. From 10 o'clock in the morning until 5 in the evening, a splendid selection of handmade gifts, everything for babies, cushions, foot- stools, and rugs will be on display for residents of our villages. Those who know of the work of these men and women consider it as fine as any exhibited at a Woman's exchange. The Vocational society is the medium through which these invalids sell their handiwork to the outside world. The society is partly sup- ported by small donations, by its mem- bership. and by these sales. Women from Chicago and the north shore volunteer their services to instruct the shut-ins in their work.
