R. ternational Live Stock show at the Stock Yards pavillion are Mrs. W. R. Mahan, of 718 Elmwood avenue, Wil- mette, and Mrs. Mary C. Llewell, Jr, of Evanston. Mrs. Mahan's horses, Glittering Glory and Rose of Vir- ginia, received first prize in the pair class on Saturday, the opening night, and in the ladies' class, Glittering Glory, competing against twelve other contestants, received first award, with Rose of Virginia, third. On Monday evening in the combination class, the former horse carried off the second ribbon, with the latter taking third prize in the open class. Among other women riders, Mrs. Mahan expected to enter with Glit- tering Glory in the three-gaited class in an exhibition given before Presi- dent and Mrs. Coolidge. Mrs. Llewel- lyn has entered three hunters. This show, the biggest in the coun- try, has over 200 entrants, and is con- tinuing throughout the week. Glittering Glory and Rose of Vir- ginia make their home at the Spur and Saddle club when they are not exhibited in various parts of the coun- try, and at the time of going to press, have been the biggest winners for the club which is itself carrying off the greatest number of ribbons of any entrant. The Spur and Saddle club which is located in the northwest section of the city, has recently been organized into a private club and has undergone a process of remodeling, and its riders are frequently seen on the bridle paths winding in and about woods and groves at the edge of the city. ---- The second children's play to be given by the Jnuior League at the Playhouse on Saturday mornings at 10:30 o'clock will be "The Golden Goose," the first performance of which occurs December 13 The leading role, Minna, will he taken by Miss Margaret Merryweather, and the other members of the cast will be: Hans Janet Fairbank Yvonne, the Princess, Marion McFadden King Gustav Louise Mitchell Little Gray Man of the Enchanted Wood...
