At least, little girls would be certain to transfer their affections could they but see the beautiful doll house which John Sularaski has made in his spare moments. The structure is 48 inches high and 34 inches long. It has nine large rooms with a kitchen which has real linole- um on the floor. The living room has a real fireplace, and all rooms are lighted by electricity. The house is of French architecture, with French windows on hinges, and and can be easily moved, taken apart and redecoratea. The roof is beau- tifully shingied in genuine redwood and the exterior of the house is paint- ed white, with green trim. Santa Claus is terribly afraid some- one will buy the doll house before he can bring it to some nice little girl. "God, the Creator," Topic for Local Science Service For December 7, the subject of the lesson-sermon of First Church of Christ, Scientist, is "God the Only Cause and Creator." Services are held at Masonic temple, 708 Elm street, at 11 o'clock; Sunday school at 9:35 o'clock; Wednesday evening Testimonial meeting at 8 o'clock. The reading room at 746 Elm street is open daily except Sunday from noon to 5 o'clock and on Wednesday eve- ning from 9 to 9:30 o'clock. Our Band Enjoys a Stag and Talks Over Future Plans Fifty young men and merry fore- gathered in Community House Thurs- day evening of this week to enjoy a real barbecue repast and discussion of future plans for the Winnetka Cham- ber of Commerce band. The diners comprised the band members and a few highly fortuned friends and the occasion was designated as the first annual stag and pep meeting of the band. Augmenting the jollification were speeches by Fred Glover, Al Hobbs and Theodore Morse, all of whom qualified as skilled after-dinner or- ators. The speakers placed emphasis upon the sponsorship of the band by the Chamber of Commerce, stressing the fact that the organization of business people was directly responsible for the organization of the band about a year ago and has since that time maintain- ed an ardent interest in its welfare. Special credit for the establishment and splendid success of the band was accorded Alva Lee Adams, who is the personal sponsor and an enthusiastic member of the organization. It has been largely through Mr. Adams' ef- forts that the band has experienced such a remarkable successful season. He and the Chamber of Commerce were given a rousing vote of thanks in recognition of their kindly interest. The stag concluded with the elec- tion of offiecers. Mr. Adams was named president ; Theodore Morse, di- rector, and Earl Eaton Bigelow, busi- ness manager.
