During the hour she communicated to her audience so much enthusiasm in her subject and created such an interest, that at its close, the mothers were making definite plans for a toy orchestra for the children of the school. Miss Newcomb was commissionad to purchase the necessary instruments which will form a nucleus of an equipment which in time may prove to be very valuable to the youngsters. It is possi- ble that certain instruments may be loan- ed to the school while the project is still in its infancy and these generous offers greatly helped as much by their exprssion of interest as hy their actual value. The future of an orchestra seems assured and it is certain that, delighted as the chil- dren will be, they cannot be any more pleased over it than their parents.
