That a local improve- ment shall be made within the Vil- lage of Winnetka, County of Cook and State of Illinois, the nature, charac- ter, locality and description of which said local improvement are as follows: That a new street be opened and that Church Road (formerly Church Street and Maple Avenue) be widened by condemning therefor the following described tracts of land, including all buildings and other structures located thereon: TRACT NUMBER 1. That part of Lot Twelve (12) in Whitman's Sub- division of all that part of the South Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Fractional Section Twenty-one (21) in Township Forty-two (42) North, Range Thirteen (13) East of the Third Principal Meridian which lies east of the center line of Church Road and west of the right-of-way of the Chicago and North Western Railway Company, that is described as follows: Beginning at the South- east corner of said Lot Twelve (12); thence west along the south line of said Lot Twelve (12) twenty-eight (28) feet; thence northeasterly in a straight line, twenty-seven and two- tenths (27.2) feet, to a point in the northeasterly line of said Lot Twelve (12), twenty-nine (29) feet north- westerly. from. the southeast eorner of said Lot Twelve (12); thence south- easterly along the northeasterly line of said Lot Twelve (12), twenty-nine (29) feet, to the point of beginning, all in the Village of Winnetka, County of Cook and State of Illinois. OAK STREET, from the east line extended of Lot Thirteen (13) in the Subdivision of Block Thirty-six (36), Winnetka, be- ing a Subdivision of the Northeast Quarter of Section Twenty (20) and the North half of Fractional Section Twenty-one (21), in Township For- ty-two (42) North, Range Thirteen (13) East of the Third Principal Mer- idian, according to the plat thereof re-recorded in the office of the Re- corder of Cook County, Illinois, in Book 5 of Plats, at Page 78, as Doe- ument Number 119381, to a line thir- ty (30) feet east of and parallel with the east line extended of Linden Street, be improved in the manner hereinafter particularly described, so that the said proposed improvement shall connect with the existing pavement in the pub- lic street west of and adjoining the southwesterly line of the right-of- way of the Chicago and North West- ern Railway Company, connecting Oak Street with Ridge Avenue, and by grubbing, grading, raking and smooth- ing of parkways, excavating, filling with sand, flushing, draining, closing abandoned manholes and catch basins, moving and relocating fire hydrants, adjusting manholes, adjusting and re- placing sidewalk approaches, and ad- justing and connecting existing pave- ments with the proposed pavement, constructing manholes, catch basins, and combined manhole-catchbasins, valve vaults with valves, pedestrian subway with combined ventilating shaft and safety island, and cable guard fence, adjusting and replacing cast iron water pipes, curbing and paving with reinforced concrete a road- way forty-one (41) feet and four (4) inches in width from back to back of integral curb, from the north line of the existing pavement in Winnetka Avenue, in said Winnetka Avenue, in and across the tracts of land herein provided to be acquired, and in and along Church Road, and in and across Willow Street, Ash Street and Cherry Street, to the east line of Ridge Ave- nue; and that the said concrete pave- ment shall be widened along curved lines to meet the existing pavement in Winnetka Avenue at the easterly and westerly lines of that portion of Win- netka Avenue herein provided to be improved as more particularly herein- after described; and that said pro- posed concrete pavement, at its inter- section with Church Road, shall be constructed to meet the existing pave- ment in said Church Road at said line three hundred ninety (390) feet north- westerly from and parallel with the center line of Elder Lane extended, as measured along the center line of said Church Road; and that the said pro- posed concrete pavement, at its inter- section with Willow Street, shall, on the southerly side thereof, be widened along curved lines to meet the pave- ment herein proposed to be constructed in Willow Street, at a line sixty-six (66) feet southwesterly from, as meas- ured at right angles to, the south- westerly line and said line extended of the right-of-way of the Chicago and North Western Railway Company, as more particularly hereinafter de- scribed; and that said proposed con- crete pavement in Ash Street and in Cherry Street shall be widened along curved lines to the east to meet the existing pavements in said streets at the southwesterly line extended of the right-of-way of the Chicago and North Western Railway Company, as more particularly hereinafter described; and shall be widened along curved lines to the west to meet the existing pave- ments in said streets at a line parallel with and seventy-five (75) feet south- westerly from, as measured at right angles to, the southwesterly line and said line extended, of said right-of- way, as more particularly hereinafter described; and that said proposed con- crete pavement shall connect with the existing bituminous macadam pave- ment in Ridge Avenue by adjusting and connecting the existing bituminous
