TER WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, MAY 2, 1925 macadam pavement in Ridge Avenue from. the north end of the proposed concrete pavement at the east line of Ridge Avenue with the center line of Ridge Avenue, said center line lof Ridge Avenue being the line of con- nection of the improvement herein pro- vided for in said Ridge Avenue with the existing pavement in the public street lying west of and adjoining the southwesterly line of the right-of-way of the Chicago and North Western Railway Company, connecting Oak Street with Ridge Avenue, and by pav- ing with reinforced concrete a road- way in Willow Street thirty-one (81) feet and four (4) inches in width from back to back of integral curb, from the east line extended of Forest Street east to the southwesterly line of the reinforced concrete pavement herein provided to be constructed in and across Willow Street, and by paving with brick upon a concrete foundation, a roadway in Oak Street fifty-one (51) feet and four (4) inches in width from back to back of integral curb, from the existing pavement at the east line extended of Lot Thirteen (13) in the Subdivision of Block Thirty-six (36), Winnetka, where the said proposed brick pavement, fifty-one (51) feet and four (4) inches in width, shall con- nect with the existing pavement in said public street connecting Oak Street with Ridge Avenue, to a line thirty (30) feet east of and parallel with the east line extended of Linden Street, and by curing and protecting the proposed pavement and curbing, and by removing foundations under buildings located upon the tracts of land to be acquired for such improve- ment. The center line of the above proposed concrete pavement, except at curb cor- ners as hereinafter described, shall be as follows: Beginning at a point in the north edge of the curb of the ex- isting concrete pavement in Winnetka Avenue, said point of beginning being two hundred four (204) feet south- westerly from and as measured at right angles to the center line of the west main track of the Chicago and North Western Railway Company (said center line being fifty-five (55) feet southwesterly from and as meas- ured at right angles to and parallel with the easterly line and said east- erly line extended of the right-of-way of the said Chicago and Norih West- ern Railway Company), thence north- westerly along a straight line and par- allel with said center line of said west main track five hundred seven and six tenths (507.6) feet to a point of curve, thence northwesterly along a curved line convex westerly having a degree of curvature of two degrees forty-four minutes (2° 44') for a distance of five hundred twenty-seven and four tenths (527.4) feet to a point of reverse curve, thence northwesterly along a curved line convex easterly having a degree of curvature of two degrees forty- four minutes (2° 44') for a distance of five hundred twenty-seven and four tenths (527.4) feet to a point seventy- two (72) feet southwesterly from, as measured at right angles to the said center line of said west main track: thence northwesterly along a straight line and parallel with said center line of said west main track, twelve hun- dred forty-three and two tenths (1243.2) feet to a point of curve; thence northwesterly along a curved line con- vex easterly having a degree of cur- vature of 0° 11' 50' for a distance of five hundred twenty-four (524) feet to a point of reverse curve; thence northwesterly along a curved line con- vex westerly having a degree of cur- vature of 0° 11' 50" for a distance of five hundred twenty-four (524) feet to a point eighty-one and five tenths (81.5) feet southwesterly from and as measured at right angles to said cen- ter line of said west main track, thence northwesterly along a straight line and parallel with said center line of said west main track to the east line extended of Ridge Avenue. The center line of said proposed con- crete pavement in Willow Street, Ash Street and Cherry Street shall con- form to the center lines respectively of said Willow Street, Ash Street and Cherry Street. The center line of said proposed concrete pavement in Church Road where said proposed pavement joins the existing pavement in Church Road shall conform to the center line of said Church Road southerly of said proposed concrete pavement. The center line of said proposed brick pavement in Oak Street shall be thirty-eight (38) feet north of and par- allel with the south line of said Oak Street. The finished grade of the top sur- face of said proposed concrete pave- ment and said proposed brick pave- ment shall be measured in feet and decimal parts of a foot above the estab- lished datum of the Village of Win- netka. Said grades are given at points along the said center line hereinbe- fore described and said points are measured in feet from said point of beginning of said center line. The finished grade along the center line of said proposed concrete pavement in Willow Street at the east line extend- ed of Forest Street shall be 60.10 feet; at a point seventy-five (75) feet east of the said east line of Forest Street said finished grade shall be 59.56 feet; at a point one hundred seventy-five (175) feet east of the said east line of Forest Street said finished grade shall be 58.05 feet; at a point two hun- dred fifty (250) feet east of the said east line of Forest Street, said finished grade shall be 56.85 feet. The finished grade of said concrete pavement in Willow Street shall meet the existing grade at Forest Street. The finished grade along the center line of said proposed brick pavement in Oak Street shall meet the existing brick pave- ment at Oak Street at a point thirty (30) feet east of and parallel with said east line extended of Linden Street; at a point one hundred thirty (130) feet east of said east line of Linden Street said finished grade shall be 67.40 feet; at a point one hundred fif- ty (150) feet east of said east line ex- tended of Linden Street said finished grade shall be 67.30 feet. Said finished grade of the said pavement in Oak Street shall meet the existing grade of the pavement in Oak Street at the east line extended of Lot Thirteen (13), Block Thirty-six (36), Winnetka. The radii of the curb corners where said proposed improvement connects with the existing curbs of connecting streets shall be as follows: At the northwesterly corner of WINNETKA AVENUE, thirty-five (35) feet: at the northeast corner of WINNETKA AVE- NUE, sixty (60) feet; at the southerly corner of CHURCH ROAD, ten (10) feet; at the westerly corner ° of CHURCH ROAD, one hundred fifty (150) feet; at the southwesterly cor- nor of WILLOW STREET, sixty (60) feet; at the northwesterly corner of WILLOW STREET, thirty-five (35) feet; at the southwesterly corner of ASH STREET, thirty-five (35) feet; at the northeasterly corner of ASH STREET, thirty-five (35) feet at the northwesterly corner of ASH STREET, fifteen (15) feet; at the southeasterly corner of ASH STREET, fifteen (15) feet; at the southwesterly corner of CHERRY STREET, thirty-five (35) feet; at the northwesterly corner of CHERRY STREET, fifteen (15) feet; at the northeasterly corner of CHER- RY STREET, thirty-five (35) feet; at the southeasterly corner of CHERRY STREET, fifteen (15) feet; at the southerly corner of RIDGE AVENUE, ten (10) feet; at the connection with the existing westerly curb along the driveway into the Depot Grounds of the Chicago and North Western Rail- way Company, ten (10) feet. The pedestrian subway hereinabove provided for shall be constructed in and along Church Road, along the southerly portion of Willow Street more particularly described as fol- lows: The west entrance of said sub- way shall be located in the south park- way of Willow Street, the center line of said subway beginning at a point eleven feet four inches (11' 4") north of the present south line of Willow Street and sixty-nine feet four inches (69' 4") west of the intersection of the present west line of Church Road with the present south line of Willow Street, thence east and parallel with said south line of Willow Street twenty- two feet six inches (22' 6"), thence northeasterly along a straight line one hundred sixteen (116) feet to a point twenty feet seven inches (20' 7") north of the said south line extended of Wil- low Street, said point being in the easterly line of the entrance of said subway. All of the above described proposed improvement shall be con- structed in the Village of Winnetka, County of Cook and State of Illinois. The improvement provided for in this ordinance is further shown and described upon certain plates or draw- ings showing profile and details of construction, which are hereto at- tached, made a part hereof, and marked Flates 1 to 7 inclusive. Said plates and each and all of the contents thereof are hereby made a part of this ordinance with the same force and effect as if the said plans, drawings and plates were set out in words and figures herein. Wherever the word "street" is used in this ordinance, except where other- wise specifically limited, it shall in- clude "avenue" "lane" and "road." The words 'street line' shall mean the line between the property to be used as a street and the adjoining property. Wherever the word 'subgrade' is used in this ordinance, it shall mean that portion of the roadway and curb foundation which is to be prepared as hereinafter provided for, upon which the pavement and curb are to be con- structed. The term "pavement" shall mean the portion of the roadway between the roadway faces of the curb. The term "roadway'" shall mean the portion of the street where the pave- ment and curbs shall be constructed and shall extend from back to back of curbs. The word "gutter" wherever used in this ordinance shall mean that portion of the pavement adjacent to the faces of the curb, and the term "gutter line" shall apply to the line of intersection of the surface of the pavement with the face of the curb. The words "finished grade' shall mean the established grade and shall be the grade or elevation of the top surface of the pavement at the center line of said pavement, unless other- wise shown upon the said Plates 1 to 7 inclusive, when the improvement is completed, and is given in feet and decimals of a foot above datum, which datum is the Village datum as estab- lished by the Council of the Village of Winnetka by an ordinance passed and approved on the twenty-third day of March, A. D. 1913. Wherever the words "Willow Street" are used in this ordinance, they shall be taken to mean the street known as "Willow Road." Wherever the words "flow line" are used in this ordinance, they shall be interpreted to mean the inside bottom of the sewer or drain at any given point in said sewer or drain, or the invert or inside bottom of said sewer or drain passing through the manhole. The land herein provided to be con- demned and the improvement thereof, together with that portion of Church Road (formerly Church Street and Maple Avenue) herein provided to be improved, and the public street be- tween Oak Street and Ridge Avenue adjoining the westerly right-of-way line of the Chicago and North Western Railway Company shall, from and after the passage and taking effect of this ordinance, be known as CENTER STREET. The drainage necessary to be con- structed in connection with the im- provement provided for in this ordi- nance shall include the laying of three thousand one hundred seventy (3,170) lineal feet of four (4) inch pipe drains laid at an average depth of three (3) feet below the top of the curb, three (3) feet therefrom and in the easterly parkway of the proposed improvement from Winnetka Avenue northerly for a distance of two thousand seven hun- dred forty (2,740) feet; and from Ash Street northerly for a distance of four hundred thirty (430) feet, and the trenches therefor shall be backfilled with earth. There shall also be con- structed in connection with the im- provement provided for in this ordi- nance five hundred ten (510) lineal feet of ten (10) inch pipe drains laid at an average depth of seven (7) feet below the finished grade of the park- way; five (5) feet westerly from. the westerly curb in the westerly park- way of the proposed improvement from Church Road southerly .for a distance of two hundred fifty (250) feet. and from Cherry Street southerly for a distance of two hundred sixty (260) feet, and the trenches therefor shall be backfilled with earth. There shall also be constructed in connection with the improvement provided for in this ordinance two thousand five hundred thirty (2,530) lineal feet of twelve (12) inch drain pipes laid at an aver- age depth of five (5) feet six (6) inch- es below the top of the curb, five (5) feet westerly therefrom and in the westerly parkway of the proposed im- provement, from a point eighty-five (85) feet northwesterly from the ex- isting storm sewer in Winnetka Ave- nue northwesterly for a distance of eighteen hundred seventy-five (1,875) feet; also from a point ninety (90) feet northwesterly from the existing storm sewer in Willow Street north- westerly for a distance of four hun- dred thirty-five (435) feet; also from the proposed manhole-catchbasin at the northwesterly curb corner of Ash Street northwesterly for a distance of two hundred twenty (220) feet, and the trenches therefor shall be backfilled with earth and all surplus excavated material therefrom removed. There shall also be constructed in connection with the improvement pro- vided for in this ordinance two hun- dred fifteen (215) lineal feet of twelve (12) inch pipe drains laid at an aver- age depth of eight (8) feet below the top of the finished grade of the pave- ment, eighty-five (85) feet connecting said proposed twelve (12) inch drain hereinbefore provided for with the ex- isting storm sewer in Winnetka Ave- nue, ninety (90) feet connecting said proposed twelve (12) inch sewer with the existing storm sewer in Willow Street and forty (40) feet connecting the said proposed twelve (12) inch drain at the southwesterly curb cor- ner at Ash Street to the proposed twelve (12) inch drain and manhole- catchbasin at the northwesterly curb corner of Ash Street, and the trenches therefor shall be backfilled with sand and all surplus excavated material therefrom removed. There shall also be constructed in connection with the improvement pro- vided for in this ordinance nine hun- dred fifty (950) lineal feet of eight (8) inch pipe drains for catchbasin connections laid at an average depth of four (4) feet below the finished grade of the pavement. The said eight (8) inch drains shall connect the thirty-nine (39) concrete catch- basins hereinafter provided for with the existing drains hereinafter re- ferred to and with the ten (10) inch and twelve (12) inch drains hereinbe- fore provided for. The size of said four (4) inch, eight (8) inch, ten (10) inch, and twelve (12) inch pipe drains hereinabove pro- vided to be constructed shall be the in- side diameter thereof. All of said drain pipes hereinabove provided to be constructed shall be salt glazed vitrified tile sewer pipe with bell and spigot ends and the backfill materials for all trenches where said pipes shall be laid shall be thoroughly flushed with water. The joints of all drains except the four (4) inch drains which shall be laid with open joints, shall be made with mortar composed by volume of one (1) part Portland cement and two (2) parts sand. The free ends of the drains hereinbefore provided for shall be closed with brick plugs. After the drains hereinabove pro- vided to be constructed shall have been laid and the trenches therefor backfilled, all surplus excavated ma- terial from the trenches shall be re- moved. There shall be relaid at an average depth of seven (7) feet in that portion of Church Road along the southerly portion of Willow Street, in which shall be constructed the pedestrian subway hereinafter more particularly described and as shown upon said Plate No. 6, one hundred (100) lineal feet of twenty-four (24) inch internal diameter pre-cast reinforced concrete sewer pipe (due allowance being made for the salvage value of the existing twenty-four (24) inch internal dia- meter sewer), and the joints of said sewer pipe to be relaid shall be made of Portland cement mortar composed by volume of one (1) part Portland ce- ment, and two (2) parts sand. The trench under said twenty-four (24) re- inforced concrete sewer pipe shall be laid, shall be backfilled with sand as hereinabove provided, and all surplus excavated material from said trench shall be removed. There shall be constructed in con- nection with the improvement provid- ed for in this ordinance twenty (20) lineal feet of eight (8) inch inside diameter vitrified salt-glazed hub and spigot tile pipe to connect the cast iron grating and frame hereinafter provided to be set in the floor of said pedestrian subway, with the said twenty-four (24) inch sewer herein- above provided to be relaid in Willow Street. The said eight (8) inch dia- meter pipe shall be laid at an average depth of six (6) feet six (6) inches with mortar joints composed by vol- ume of one (1) part Portland cement and two (2) parts sand. The trenches where said nine hun- dred seventy (970) lineal feet of eight (8) inch pipe drains shall be laid, the trenches where the said two hundred fifteen (215) feet of said twelve (12) inch pipe drains shall be laid, and the trenches where the twenty-four (24) inch reinforced concrete pipe sewer shall be relaid shall all be backfilled with sand. The depths and grades of flow line and points of connection of the drains hereinabove provided for are more particularly shown upon said plates No. 1 to No. 6 inclusive. There shall be constructed in con- nection with the improvement provid- ed for in this ordinance thirty-nine (39) concrete catchbasins having an inside diameter of four (4) feet, a height of concrete over all of six (6) feet six (6) inches with openings left in the wall of each of said catchbasins for the said eight (8) inch catchbasin drain connections. Each of said catch- basins shall be provided with a cast iron catchbasin cover with rim and perforated 1lid having a combined weight of rim and lid of five hundred (500) pounds, and having an average thickness of metal of one and one- quarter (114) inches. The said thirty-nine (39) catchbasins shall be located as follows: Eleven (11) pairs of said catchbasins shall be located, one basin of each of said pairs at the easterly and one at the west- erly curb of said proposed improve- ment between the south line of Wil- low Street and the north line of Win- netka Avenue. The said pairs of catchbasins shall be spaced approxim- ately two hundred (200) feet apart. One (1) catchbasin shall be located at the northeasterly curb corner in Win- netka Avenue and said improvement; one (1) catchbasin shall be located at the easterly curb thirteen hundred (1300) feet northerly from the north- erly line of Winnetka Avenue; one (1) catchbasin shall be located at the northwesterly curb corner of Winnetka Avenue and said proposed improve- ment; two (2) pairs of said catchbasins shall be located in said improvement in Willow Street, one (1) basin of said pair at the north curb and one (1) at the south curb; one (1) pair of said catchbasins shall be located one hun- dred fifty (150) feet east of the east line extended of Forest Street, and one (1) pair of said catchbasins shall be located at the westerly line extended of Church Road; one (1) catchbasin shall be located at the easterly curb of said improvement three thousand one hundred (3,100) feet northerly from the northerly line of Winnetka Avenue; two (2) pairs of said catch- basins shall be located at the easterly and westerly curb of said improve- ment; one (1) pair of said catchbasins shall be located midway between Wil- low Street and Ash Street, and one (1) pair of said catchbasins shall be locat- ed midway between Ash and Cherry Street; one (1) catchbasin shall be lo- cated at the northeast curb corner of Ash Street; one (1) catchbasin shall be located at the northwest curb corner of Cherry Street; one (1) catchbasin shall be located at the northeast corner of Cherry Street; one (1) pair of said catchbasins shall be located at the east end of the proposed brick pave- ment in Oak Street, and one (1) catch- basin of said pair shall be located at the north curb and one at the south curb of said Oak Street improvement. Said proposed catchbasins in Oak Street shall be connected to the ex- isting storm sewer in Oak Street lo- cated twenty-five (25) feet north of the south line of said Oak Street, which said existing storm sewer is six (6) foes in depth at said point of connec- on. Said proposed catchbasin at the northeast curb corner of Ash Street shall be connected to the existing storm sewer in Ash Street located twen- ty-five (25) feet north of the south line of Oak Street, which said exist- ing storm sewer is six (6) feet in depth at said point of connection. Said proposed catchbasins in Willow Street located one hundred fifty (150) feet east of the east line extended of Forest Street and said catchbasin at the southwest curb corner of Willow Street and Church Road shall be con- nected to the existing storm water sewer in Willow Street located twen- ty-five (25) feet north of the south line of Willow Street, which said storm water sewer has a depth of seven (7) feet at the point of connection. The said four (4) proposed catchbasins be- tween Willow Street and Church Road shall be connected to the existing storm sewer in Church Road located twenty-five (25) feet westerly from the westerly line of the right-of-way of the Chicago and North Western Rail- way Company. The average depth of said existing sewer at the point of connection is seven (7) feet. The said proposed catchbasin at the point where said proposed improvement joins the existing pavement in Church Road shall be connected to the existing storm sewer in the center line of Church Road, which storm sewer has a depth of eight (8) feet at the point of connection. The catchbasin at the northeasterly curb corner of Winnet- ka Avenue shall connect with the ex- isting storm sewer in Winnetka Ave- nue. Said storm sewer is located twen- ty (20) feet south of the north line of Winnetka Avenue and has a depth of seven (7) feet at the point of said connection. The location, depth, point of connection and design of said thir- ty-nine (39) catchbasins are .nore par- ticularly shown upon the said plates No. 1 to No. 6 inclusive. There shall be constructed in con- nection with the improvement provid- ed for in this ordinance eleven (11) concrete manholes having an inside diameter of three (3) feet and an aver- age height of concrete over all of six (6) feet with openings left in the walls of said manholes for drain pipes hereinbefore provided for. There shall be provided for each of said concrete manholes a cast iron manhole cover with rim and solid lid having a com- bined weight of rim and lid of five hundred forty (540) pounds, and hav- ing an average thickness of metal cof one and one-quarter (1%) inches. There shall be set in each of said con- crete manholes three-quarter (3%) inch wrought iron ladders, the rounds of which shall be set sixteen (16) inches apart from top to bottom of said manholes. There shall be constructed in con- nection with the improvement provid- ed for in this ordinance two (2) con- crete manholes having an inside diamn- eter of three (3) feet and an average height of concrete over all of twelve (12) feet with openings left in the walls of said manholes for drain pipes here- inbefore provided for. Each of said concrete manholes shall be provided with a cast iron hanhole cover with rim and solid lid having a combined weight of rim and lid of five hundred forty (540) pounds, and an average thickness of metal of one and one- quarter (13%) inches. There shall be constructed in each of said concrete manholes three-quarter (3%) inch wrought iron ladders having rounds set sixteen (16) inches apart in said man- holes. There shall be constructed in con- nection with the improvement provid- ed for in this ordinance four (4) con- crete combined manhole-catchbasins having an internal diameter of four (4) feet and an average height of con- crete over all of ten (10) feet with openings left in the walls of said com- bined manhole-catchbasins for the drain pipes hereinbefore provided for. There shall be provided for each of gaid concrete combined manhole-catch- basins a cast [ with rim and perforated lid having a combined weight of rim and lid of five hundred (500) pounds and an average thickness of metal of one and one- quarter (11%) inches. There shall be set in each of said combined manhole- catchbasins three-quarter (%) inch wrought iron ladders having rounds set sixteen (16) inches apart in said combined manhole-catchbasins. There shall be provided and install- ed in the floor of the pedestrian sub- way hereinafter provided for one (1) cast iron grating and frame ten (10) inches in diameter and having a com- bined weight of said grating and frame of eighty (80) pounds, the location and detail of said cast iron grating and frame being shown on said plate No. 6. The said thirteen (13) manholes shall be located as follows: One (1) manhole at the northerly end of the said twelve (12) inch drain; one (1) manhole at the northerly end of the said twelve (12) inch drain in Willow Street; one (1) manhole three hundred (300) feet northerly of said last men- tioned manhole; one (1) manhole at the southerly end of said twelve (12) inch drain in Winnetka Avenue; nine (9) manholes along the said twelve (12) inch drain between Winnetka Avenue and Church Road approximate- ly three hundred (300) feet apart. The said four (4) combined manhole- catchbasins shall be located as fol- lows: One (1) at the northerly end of said ten (10) inch drain in Church Road; one (1) at the southwesterly curb corner of Ash Street and along the line of said twelve (12) inch drain; one (1) at the northwesterly curb corner of Ash Street and along the line of said twelve (12) inch drain; and one (1) at the northerly end of said ten (10) inch drain in Cherry Street. The catchbasins, manholes and com=- bined manhole-catchbasins hereinabove provided for shall be constructed of concrete composed by volume of one (1) part Portland cement, two (2; parts sand, and four (4) parts gravel or crushed stone. The side walls and bottoms shall be six (6) inches in thickness. The side walls shall be drawn in to fit and support the cast iron covers hereinabove provided for. The said covers shall consist of a frame or...rim and. lid. The lids shall be twenty-three (23) inches in diameter. The manholes shall have solid lids and the catchbasins and combined man- hole-catchbasins shall have perforat ed lids. The height of covers shall be nine (9) inches. The ladders here- inabove provided for shall consist of three-quarters (3%) inch wrought iron bars securely set in the walls of the manholes. and combined maniolie- catchbasins. Each of said bars shall be twenty-four (24) inches in length and said ladder rounds shall be spaced sixteen (16) inches apart from the tcp to the bottom of said manholes and said «combined manhole-catchbasins. The surplus excavated material re- maining after the construction of said catchbasins, manholes and combined manhole-catchbasins shall be removed. The location, depth, point of connec- tion and design of the said manholes and manhole-catchbasins shall be as more particularly shown on plates No. 1 to 6 inclusive. The seventeen (17) existing catch- basins and manholes located within the lines of the proposed improvement as more particularly shown upon sai plates No. 1 to No. 6 inclusive, shall be abandoned and filled with fine earth and thoroughly flushed with water. The outlets and inlets of said catch- basins and manholes shall be closed with brick cemented in place with mor- tar composed by volume of one (1) part Portland cement and two (2) parts sand. The twelve (12) existing manholes more particularly shown upon said plates No. 1 to No. 6 inclusive shall be adjusted to the finished grade of the proposed improvement where lo- cated. In making the adjustment of the said manholes, the old masonry shall be lowered or raised as required with the new brick masonry to bring the top of the cover to the finished grade where located. The mortar used shall be composed by volume of one (1) part Portland cement and two (2) parts sand. All rubbish shall be re- moved after the adjustment of said existing manholes. ; After the masonry of the said twelve (12) existing manholes shall be ad- justed as hereinabove provided for, there shall be placed on each of said manholes one (1) new cast iron man- hole cover with rim and solid lid hav- ing a combined weight of rim and lid of five hundred forty (540) pounds, and an average thickness of metal of one and one-quarter (1%) inches with a height of cover of nine (9) inches and a diameter of lid of twenty-three (23) inches. The top of the lid of each of said new cast iron manhole covers shall conform to the finished grade where located. The three (3) existing fire hydrants, one (1) at the intersection of Willow Street and Church Road, one (1) at the intersection of Ash Street and the proposed improvement, and one (1) at the easterly end of the proposed im- provement in Oak Street shall be dis- connected from the existing water mains where located and the old tees plugged with cast iron plugs. Each of said fire hydrants shall be reset in the parkway where located and con- nected to the existing water mains. There shall be provided for the con- nection of the said relocated fire hydrants at Willow Street and Ash Street twelve (12) feet each of four (4) inch cast iron water pipe, and for the connection of the existing fire hydrant in Oak Street twenty-six (26) feet of four (4) inch cast iron water pipe. The water pipe for the said con- nections shall weigh 21.7 pounds per lineal foot, and each of said fire hydrants shall be furnished with a new tee inserted in the existing main. In the disconnection of the said ex- isting fire hydrants and the resetting thereof, all necessary cutting and calk- ing with lead and oakum shall be done and the trenches in which shall be laid the said four (4) inch cast iron water pipe shall be backfilled with sand hereinafter provided for and all surplus excavated material removed. There shall be placed around each of the hydrant drips of the said three (3) existing fire hydrants, three-quarters (3%) of a cubic yard of crushed lime- stone, using one-quarter (1%) of a cubic yard of crushed stone to each hydrant. The location of the said three (3) existing fire hydrants and the lo- cation of the same as reset are more particularly shown upon said plates No. 3 and No. 4. . There shall be used in the adjust- ment and replacement of the present water main in Willow Street at Church Road two hundred (200) lineal feet of six (6) inch cast iron water pipe weighing thirty-three and three-tenths (33.3) pounds per lineal foot laid at an average depth of five (5) feet six iron catchbasin cover ase. ie YE a, a ai ele
