WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, MAY 2, 1925 3 MESSAGE FROM PANAMA LAUDS WINNETKA TALK The WINSETRA TALK travels, each week, to places in the remote lands of the earth, to persons, who, though far away, are Winnetkans at heart and profoundly interested in the hap- penings back home. Not infrequently the TALK offices are in receipt of messages from these travelers upon the face of the globe. Only this week there is a glowing communication from a youthful vil- lager who is engaged in the service of this country in the primitive wilds of Panama, otherwise known as Republique de Panama. Reference is to Daniel W. Kohlsaat, corporal with the United States army engineers engaged in making maps of the Panama Canal zone. "That paper sure is great," writes Corporal Dan in commenting on the TaLk. "It keeps me informed as to the latest comings (and goings) and all the village 'slander'. I'd sure miss it if they were to discontinue the pub- lication." Corporal Kohlsaat's particular job just now is surveying the Chagres river, the flow of which feeds Gatun lake and makes the canal possible. $70,000 Residence Heads Building Permit Roster Felix Lowy of 716 Junior terrace, Chicago, has taken out a permit to build a new $70,000 home on the north- west corner of Winnetka avenue and Sheridan road.
