Ely was elected president of the newly organized Winnetka Chapter of the Isaac Walton League of America at an enthusiastic gath- ering of the group Friday evening of last week. Other permanent officers of the local unit, elected after the adoption of the constitution, were Dr. J. W. F. Davies, vice president; Wil- liam S. Elliott, secretary; Frank F. Ferry, treasurer; Judge Charles M. Thomson, Percival Hunter and Nor- man K. Anderson, directors. Honorary titles were conferred as follows at the meeting: Dr. J. W. F. Davies, chief ranger; Walter S. John- son, complete angler; Arthur H. Wood- ward, meat hunter; Percival Hunter, ancient mariner; Sherman M. Goble, adventurer. These titles carry with them the obligation to tell good story of personal hunting or fishing experi- ences, at the next annual meeting, the story to be properly authenticated. After official business the members were joined by women guests and the meeting concluded with a thrilling movie staged in the wild grandeur and treacherous rapids of the historic Nipigon river, Ontario, the world's most famous brook trout waters. Langworthy, President of the Woman's City club and member of the Chicago Camp Fire Girls' Coun- cil is to be the speaker at the Camp Fire Girls' Grand Ceremonial on the evening of Saturday, May 16th in Community House. Dr. Norman E. Richardson of the Department of Religious Education of Northwestern University is to be pres- ent with his class of young who have been taking the work in his Camp Fire Guardians' course during the past year. They will be presented with their Camp Fire Guardians' certificates at this time, and there will be a short address by Dr. Richardson. The Camp Fire Girls of Winnetka are working hard for this big cere- monial meeting. It will be an op- portunity for friends of Camp Fire to show their interest, and for those wish- ing to know more about this great movement for young girls to make themselves more familiar with it. The program will be given more fully next week. Admission will be by ticket, but there will be no charge. Tickets may be obtained from any of the Camp Fire girls or from Mrs. E. W. Wortley at iy House. COMMUNITY HOUSE CALENDAR WEEK OF MAY 4, 1925 Remember that the National Week of Song will be observed in Winnetka by opening it with a big mass meet- ing of song on Sunday evening, May Several of the regular Community House activities have closed for the season. The women's morning gym- nasium class and the young women's evening gymnasium class are over, as well as the social dancing for boys and girls, and the fancy dancing for girls. Keep in mind the Boy Scout Night of Thursday, May 7. The public is invited to be present. Professional gardeners were retained to complete the work of the citizens and it is practically finished at this time.
