Pope of Wilmette on Sat- urday, June 13. Miss Josephine Kuehmsted of Hins- dale gave a Sunday evening supper on May 31, for Miss Buell and Miss Edith Brigham, whose marriage to James Swan of Wilmette will also be an event in June. On Saturday last, Miss Brig- ham entertained Miss Buell's wedding party at dinner before the dance at Skokie club, and on Sunday evening, Mrs. Harold Hinckley of Hinsdale gave a supper party. Miss Mary Louise Buell will be her sister's maid of honor, and the brides- maids will be Miss Edith Brigham, Miss Elizabeth Pope, Miss Josephine Mac- lay, and Miss Catherine Turner, Jean Harper will be the flower girl. Clarence Luitweiler will be Mr. Pope's best man, and the ushers, George Lyon, Glen Fawcett, Nathaniel Whiteside, and Harold Hinckley. Or A cast of American artists will ap- pear in the forthcoming production of two American operas both by well known and distinguished composers and musicians. "I'he Legend of the Piper" by Eleanor Everest Freer is considered a charming work, full of tuneful melo- dies. The "Music Robber" by John Smith (pseudonym) is by a well known American conductor of music. The presentation will take place at the Cen- tral theatre Sunday, June 14, at 3:30 o'clock. ----Q-- The goard of the Winnetka League of Women Voters held the last meeting of the year Wednesday morning in the League room, Community House. At this meeting, it was decided to publish a Year Book next season to be distrib- uted to the members of the league as a resume of the year's work. Miss Marian Coryell of the Musical Guild, 716 Rush street, teacher of piano, presented her pupils in recital last Sat- urday afternoon at the Musical Guild. The group of Winnetka children par- ticipating included Jane, Francis, and Louise Copthorne, William Burkhardt, Dorothy Kahn, and Florence and Vir- ginia Taylor. Gardner of Chicago at St. Luke's hospital, June 10. The baby has been named William Alfred Gardner, II.
