Inquiries already received give indication, Mr. Eckstein says, that the demand for the first week's per- formances will be heavier than ever it has been before in the 14 years history of Ravinia opera. The Ravinia box office will be open every day, including Sunday, from 9:30 a. m. until 10 p. m. Seats may be re- served by telephone provided they are paid for by 6 o'clock on the evening of the performance. Mail reservations will also be handled at Ravinia on the same basis. Residents of the north shore towns from Evanston to Wau- kegan should call Highland Park 581. Checks should be made payable to A. M. Lowrie, manager, and sent to him at Ravinia, IIL Explain Deposit Plan For the benefit of those who desire to order tickets in advance and to have them held later than 6 o'clock, an ar- rangement has been made whereby persons desiring this accommodation can make a deposit of $20 at the box office for which a receipt will be given. Seats reserved under this plan will be held until called for by the depositor, but must be paid for at such time, thus leaving the total amount of the deposit intact. When seats so ordered are not called for, they will be charged to the depositor. The deposits will be returned at the end" of the season. There can be no cancellations on this plan unless made the day before the evening of the performance. At the opening performance of the season, Saturday night, June 27, "L' Amore dei Tre Re" (The Love of the Three Kings) will be given with the following artists: Lucrezia Bori, Gio- vanni Martinelli, Giuseppe Danise, Virgilio Lazzari, Giordano Paltrinieri, Philine Falco. Monday night will inaugurate the series of regular weekly symphony con- certs which form an important feature of every season and the program will be played by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Eric Del.aMarter. Old Fire Cart Finds Home at Arden Shore Chief Zibble and his stalwart firemen will soon bid sad adieu to Wilmette's pioneer fire-fighting equipment when the old fire cart purchased by the vil- lage 32 years ago, is dispatched to the Arden Shore Rest Camp at Lake Bluff. The Village board Tuesday evening referred to its Fire committee, John F. Wiedlin, chairman, the matter of turn- ing over the ancient equipment to the rest camp, in accordance with an an- nouncement by friends that the rest camp was in need of the apparatus. The committee was given power to act and, accordingly, Chairman Weid- lin and his committee decided in favor of such disposition. Several lengths of hose may also be sent to the camp. ENTERTAIN OLD FOLKS The Scandinavian Pleasure club en- tertained the residents of the Old Peo- ple's Home at Evanston last Sunday afternoon. Refreshments were pro- vided for the guests and a general good time was enjoyed. Hughes Named Northwestern Trustee Bishop Edwin Holt Hughes of the Methodist Episcopal church, who is a resident of Wilmette, was elected a member of the board of trustees of Northwestern university at the annual meeting of that body Saturday of last week. Bishop Hughes is the directing head of the Chicago area of the Methodist denomination. He was formerly presi- dent of DePauw university and has been a bishop since 1908.
