C's came through in the eleventh inning of their game with the fast Drexel Maroons of Chicago, last Sunday emerging with a 12 to 11 triumph. The game was featured by heavy stick work with Palletti, "Spike" and Burmeister leading the procession. It was Winnetka's third straight vic- tory. Winnetka's winning tally resulted from a pass to Smith, his theft of sec- ond base and romp over the platter on a single by "Spike." The visitors had knotted the count in the ninth frame. This Sunday afternoon the locals meet the powerful Silverdales of Chi- cago. The game is called for 3:15 o'clock at Playfield. Local Women Interested in Child Training Course Several local women, it is said, are interested in the courses in child nur- ture given under auspices of the Na- tional Kindergarten and Elementary college and which opened at the col- lege Monday of this week. White Poodle Wanders; Now Awaits Its Owner Who lost the white poodle? Someone in Wilmette has lost a pet and can find it at the W. H. Fisher kennels, located on Waukegan road about a mile and a half north of Glen- view. Early this week the driver of an ice wagon in the village noticed a small white poodle following his wagon. He attempted to frighten it away, but it continued to follow him. When he arrived at Fisher's kennels the dog was captured and placed in Fisher's care. It will be returned to the owner upon proper identification. Baptist Pastor Attends Denominational Meeting Rev. Francis C. Stifler, pastor of the Wilmette Baptist church, left Thurs- day for Seattle, Wash., where he will attend the sessions of the northern Baptist convention.
