Orderly Demonstration "People here in Yutaoho right now who were eye witnesses of the great student mass-meetings in Peking say they have never see more orderly demonstration. The leaders held the radical wing who wished violence, in check, even though two American mounted marines rode up and down through the parade definitely inviting violence. Those marines were clear outside the Legation quarter, were so clearly overstepping their rights that a flood of American letters poured into the Legation next day and as a result they were court-martialed. "But what I am trying to say is that we foreigners who are not right in the mess of Shanghai or Hangkow are almost a unit in wanting to take off our hats to the Chinese. They are hold- ing the ship steady so far in a way that is simply amazing. We hope and pray that the foreign groups may meet reason with reason and help reach a fair adjustment." "GATE CRASHER" IN MOVIES Tammany Young, who is proud of the distinction of being the champion "gate crasher" of the world (which in English means an uncanny ability to enter portals which usually demand admission price) and a screen actor of considerable note, plays a role in "The Heart of a Siren." Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Ross and their two children, 429 Sunset road, have just returned from a 10 day visit at Oconomowoc. DOUG DOES TANGO Those who "trip the light fantastic" on various and sundry dance floors had better look to their laurels, for no less able a contender than Douglas Fairbanks threatens to outdo them in the "stepping stuff." Mr. Fairbanks takes his first fling at terpsichorean art in his new picture, "Don Q, Son of Zorro," his United Artists Corporation release. During the making of the picture, he was beseiged by dancing masters, fancing masters, champion bull-fighters, expert whip-poppers and what-not, all because it was necessary for him to become expert at so many difficult things that are featured in "Don Q, Son of Zorro." Juliette Belanger is the Fairbanks' dancing partner in the film. They do the tango, fandango or whatever it is, in an Andalusian tavern, and those who have seen this picture say that as a dancer Mr. Fairbanks is at least 100 per cent.
