MILAN LUSK HONORED BY QUEEN OF ROUMANIA Milan Lusk, 810 Michigan avenue, 'Wilmette, internationally known young violinist, recently received a letter from the Queen of Roumania, sent in acknowledgement of a piece of music Milan Lusk dedicated to her majesty. The waltz, which Milan Lusk dedicated to the queen, is called, "The Lady Hamilton Waltz" and was originally composed for piano by Jonesco, a Roumanian. Marie, Queen of Roumania, considered by many, the most beautiful queen in Furope, was an English girl and her title in England is Lady Hamilton-- hence, the title of the Lusk composi- tion. North shore residents may recall, Milan Lusk's command recital before Queen Marie and her court in Sinaia, Roumania, while the violinist was on a continental tour last summer. Milan Lusk has filled a number of engage- ments this summer, on the Artists' course at Chicago university and be- fore many country clubs in the vicin- ity of Chicago. He is booked to ap- pear this coming season in a series of recitals and expects to teach a limited number of advanced violin students. His fall schedule of teaching is now being arranged. Former Wilmette Teacher Broadcasts at Story Hour Miss Mildred McCullough, former- ly of Wilmette, who has recently been the guest of Miss Clementine Eastman, 1027 Elmwood avenue, gave the Skeezix Hour program, over the radio "at Station WGN, last Monday eve- ning. Miss McCullough, an alumna of the National Kindergarten and Ele- nientary college is now teaching in Washington, D. C. In addition to the program given by Miss McCullough. BUCCANEERS PLANNING FOR MERRY LABOR DAY "Pirates" of the Buccaneers' club will disport themselves merrily on Labor Day, and while no one may be made to walk the plank, there will be plenty of excitement. There will be both sailing and swimming events and a dinner will be served at 6 o'clock in the evening. Because of the late start the Buc- caneers got this season their activi- ties will continue through the month of September, it is announced. Sat- urday, September 5, there will be a race of one design class boats at 2:15 o'clock in the afternoon. Crews will be chosen from members and guests, who are to report at the float- ing club house at 2 o'clock. Similar races are to be held every Saturday |- afternoon. On the Thursdays of September, 10 17 and 24, there will be dinner dances at the Port of Missing Men at 7 o'clock in the evening.
