W. Loudon, 200 South boulevard, was fined $10 and costs by Judge John F. Boyer in police court for trimming trees without a license on the southeast corner of Isa- bella street and Eastwood avenue. When the offender was brought into court by officers Charles Pash and' B. J. Hanke he was rather perplexed. "I was in Wilmette and they require no license," he remonstrated with the Judge. "You were not in Wilmette," cor- rected Juclge Boyer. "The middle of the street is the boundary line, When you are south of the middle it's Ev- anston, when you're north of it it's Wilmette. North shore residents who been taking Tom Robinson's water courses at Northwestern university this summer will have an opportunity to give a public exhibition this Satur- day, when Coach Robinson's swim carnival will be held in the N. U. tank, in Patten gymnasium. There are 155 entrants in Tom's gala water contest, ranging in age from 5 to 55 years. There will be $100 worth of gold and silver medals, now on display in Lord's department store, Evanston, as prizes for the events. There will be 40 yard races for both boys and girls between 10 and 15 years of age, a 40 yard championship, a 20 yard race for women, and many others.
