Dun- can-Clark Principal Speakers at Chicago Meeting The promise and futility of various proposals for ending war and bringing about peaceful relations between na- tions will be brought out by three speakers at the Armistice Sunday meeting arranged for the Apollo thea- tre November 8, at 3 o'clock, by the Chicago Forum council of which Prof. William E. Dodd of the University of Chicago is president and Mrs. B. F. Langworthy of Winnetka, vice- president. Col. Raymond Robins the eloquent civic and social welfare leader will ad- vance his plan for attaining concord by the outlawry of war. Following the address of Col. Robins, S. J. Duncan- Clark of the Chicago Evening Post, one of the leading proponents of the World Court, and a resident of Wil- mette, will discuss the situation from entertainers with the American ex- peditionary forces in France during the war will furnish the music for the special armistice Sunday program ar- ranged by the Forum council. They are Ellen and Elizabeth Townsend. Col. Robins himself played a prom- inent part in the war. He went to Russia as major and deputy commis- sioner in the American Red Cross and later became lieutenant colonel and commissioner of the Red Cross, Col. Robins' energetic course in Russia is said to have delayed the collapse of Russia on the eastern front. During his long residence in Chicago Col. Robins has served as a settlement worker, member of the board of ed- ucation and in numerous civic and religious undertakings. He was in the forefront of the Roosevelt progressive party but in recent years has been a member of the executive committee of the National Republican committee.
