Mrs. Edward IL. Scheidenhelm will be in charge. The books under dis- cussion are "My Brother's Face" by Mukerji, and "Blind Raftery" by Donn Byrne. Miss Annie Beach will review the former and Mrs. William A. Richardson will read from Byrne's poetry, adding much to the charming story she is to present. What is anticipated as one of the most pleasant afternoons of the cur- rent season, on the leaves of the club calendar, is the program arranged for the Woman's club of Wilmette for the afternoon of Wednesday, November 18, when Henry Riggs Rathbone of Kenilworth will give a talk on "Life in. Washington." Mr. Rathbone, who enters upon his second term as congressman-at-large, was born in Washington, where his father and mother were close friends of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Lincoln. His father was in the box at the theater when the president was as- sassinated, and was severly wounded himself. Mr. Rathbone tells of the life there in a vivid manner. Mrs. Rathbone, talented both as a musician and poet, will introduce the afternoon's program with either a song or a reading of some of her orginial poetry. | First Lecture by Tina Mae Haines November 16 A change has been made in the original plans for the lectures by Miss Tina Mae Haines on the programs to be given this winter at New Trier High school by the Symphony Players of Chicago, owing to a change in the concert day. The first lecture, how- ever, will occur as originally announced, Monday afternoon, November 16, at the Wilmette Woman's club, at 1:30 o'clock. The ensuing talks will take place on the days of the concerts, to be announced later. Tickets for the course, which is open to women of the north shore, may be obtained from Mrs. B. F. Lewis, Mrs. W. F. English, Jr.,, Mrs. G. R. Stewart, Mrs. Fred O. Ebeling, and Mrs. R. A. Wheelock, all of Wilmette. Kenilworth Neighbors to Hear Lecture by Newcomb The Neighbors, the woman's club of Kenilworth, will have its next meeting Thursday, November 19. Mrs. Charles H. Bent, chairman of the department of education, will be in charge of the program which will consist of a lec- ture by Charles Milton Newcomb of Cleveland, Ohio, on "The Religious Education of the Child." The board of directors of the Neigh- bors met with Mrs. John Howard Jones who entertained them at lunch- eon last Tuesday in her new apart- ment in Evanston. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Norris Tay- lor, Sheritt's cottage, Oxford road, Kenilworth, are being congratulated upon the birth of a daughter, Harriet, November 9, at the Evanston hospital.
