18 WINNETKA TALK December 5, 1925 HOLD ANNUAL BAZAAR New Trier High School Girls' Club to Stage Sale of Variety of Christmas Gifts at School Today This afternoon and evening the Girls' club of New Trier High school will stage its Christmas bazaar, one of the most important events of the year at the high school. The bazaar will open in the afternoon and continue until late in the evening. The pro- ceeds will go to the scholarship and loan fund which the club maintains. There will be all kinds of beautiful and useful articles for sale at the bazaar, many of which will be suitable for Christmas gifts. Something to de- light every member of the family will be for sale; there will be a doll booth, toy booth, fancywork booth, a Dutch Oven booth and many others. Among the many attractive booths, is the Christmas tree booth. Most of the articles, which will include dainty handkerchiefs, dolls, powder boxes, garters, dyed scarfs, pen wipers, towels, underwear and many other attractive things, will be placed on a huge Xmas tree. This tree will be trimmed with bells and Christmas ornaments and will be placed in the middle of the hooth. The things which are too bulky or too heavy to be placed on the tree will be piled around it and on the tables in the booth. During the afternoon and again in the evening, a one-act play, "Thurs- day Evening," by Morley, will be pre- sented by members of the New Trier Dramatic club. There will be dancing in the evening and during the after- noon and evening tea will be served on the teachers' balcony of the mess hall. Mrs. A. B. Crow of Sullivan, Mo,, has been spending a week with her sisters, the Misses FitzGerald, 826 Locust street. SORORITY BAZAARS The Delta Zeta sorority of North- western university is giving a bazaar for the benefit of its house fund Fri- day, December 4, on the main floor of the Orrington hotel building. The Northwestern chapter of the Delta Mu sorority is completing ar- rangements for the Christmas bazaar to be given at the Evanston Woman's club Wednesday, December 9. The proceeds from the affair will be added to swell the house building fund. The monthly meeting of the North Shore Catholic Woman's league will be held at the Winnetka Woman's club, Tuesday, December 8, at 2:30 o'clock. On this occasion a very de- lightful program will be given by Olive June Lacey, soprano, and William Beller, pianist, using the Steinway Duo-Art. Mr. Beller needs no intro- duction having been one of the artists at the opening meeting in 1923. The members, we hope, will turn out in large numbers for this meeting which will be followed by a social hour with refreshments. -_ The Sewing circle of the North Shore Catholic Woman's league met at the home of Mrs. David J. Hallinan, 1050 Spruce street, Winnetka Tuesday, November 24. A large number at- tended and a most enjoyable afternoon was spent in sewing and a social chat. During the refreshment hour, Mrs. William Brown Hale of the Winnetka League of Women Voters spoke in a most forceful way on the World Court. All thoroughly enjoyed Mrs. Hallinan's hospitality. MORSE IN VAUDEVILLE The Ted Morse orchestra, famous on the north shore a year ago as a dance aggregation will appear at the Palace Music hall in Chicago next week with the Tom Brown organ- ization.
