That's the dominant note of the extremely ncvel appointments of the Old Hay Loft, dine and dance place opened this week at Grove street and Sher- man avenue, Evanston. Hay protrudes from the rafters, sticks out everywhere, screens the lights from the old barn lanterns (mod- ernized) and just makes one want to sing that delightful ditty entitled "Hay, Hay--take another load away," or whatever it was the orchestra was playing. Frint George, man of the varieties, who was associated with the Western Vaudeville association for many years and more recently has piloted a bevy of radio satellites on "personal ap- pearance" tours of the Middle West, is the man behind the scenes at the Hay Loft. It's his idea and he's work- ed it out to a pleasing nicety. We're not going to tell you more--leave something to your imagination. You'll be joyously surprised for the Hay Loft is without a doubt the most novel departure in restaurant ideas ever ventured in this vicinity. Saturday is formal opening night for the Hay Loft. The dine and dance place has the endorsement of North- western university authorities, the Ev- anston Woman's club and other of Evanston's leading interests, it is ex- plained. Miss Katherine G.
