December 26, 1925 WINNETKA TALK 11 Local Residents Attend Three Plays Given in Ravinia Many residents of this suburb at- tended the three plays given recently at the Village House in Ravinia by the arts commmittee of the Woman's Civic Club of Ravinia. The playwright, Mrs. John R. Warmington, was formerly a resident of Winnetka. The report of the success of the pro- duction is herewith quoted in part from a press notice, and will be of interest to many residents here: "The three plays which were given last Saturday and Monday nights at the Village House in Ravinia by the arts committee of the Woman's Civic club of Ravinia, are not only a per- sonal triumph forMrs. John R. Warm- ington, the playwright, but also a rare artistic success for the community. "The creative power and talent con- centrated in the Ravinia section of Highland Park is something of which this suburb may be justly proud, for the entire production was the work of the artistic talent of residents of Ra- vinia. "Under the able direction of Mrs. Frank C. Peyraud, well known artist and chairman of the arts committee, not only the scenery and costumes were designed and made, but the sta- ging, settings, and coaching of the plays were accomplished by the artists and actors themselves. "The three one-act plays presented are the first finished product from the neighborhood drama workshop of the Woman's Civic club, whose members meet regularly for drama study and dramatics. The titles of the plays are "The Song of the Lark," "The Skele- ton in the Closet" and "The Millenni- um." Each one was a little jewel of dramatic art, exquisite and perfect in every detail and greeted by tremen- dous applause from the audience which packed the Village House both nights." Assisting Mrs. Peyraud were Mrs. James Cady Ewell, Rene Lavenant, and Miss Fricke who assisted in directing and coaching. Mr. .and Mrs. John P. Oleson of 240 Woodstock avenue, Kenilworth, and Mr. and Mrs. Roy C. Osgood, 423 Es- sex road, returned home Saturday from their southern trip. They visited both coasts of Florida and took a short trip to Cuba with the Bankers' con- vention. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar W. Burchard of 310 Oxford road, Kenilworth, left Wed- nesday to spend Christmas with their son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Grant Keehn of New Rochelle, N. Y.
