Weil of the Chicago Beach hotel. Muriel Uhlemann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Uhlemann of 636 Cher- ry street, will be hostess to 14 girls at her home Monday, December 28. at a 1 o'clock luncheon and bunco party. Foy Mrs. William C. Boyden, Jr. 1151 Oakley avenue will be hostess at an informal dance and midnight supper at her home New Year's eve. VACATIONING AT HOME The following group of Winnetka girls have returned from various | colleges to spend the Christmas holi- days with their parents: Elizabeth Boyden, Harriet Leonard, Cynthia and Suzanne Kohlsaat, Mary Ott, Marcelle Vennema, Louise Sherman, Beatrice Ripley, Virginia MacLeish, Elinor Mc- Ewen, Mary Louise Fenton, Marjorie Janney, Margot Atkin, Elizabeth Richards, Mary Miller, Margaret White, Virginia Wallace, Ashton Wil- son, and Louise Lackner. AT HOUSEWARMING The College club, whose membership includes a large number of Winnet- kans, was hostess Saturday, December 19, to a large number of friends of the members at a housewarming in the new rooms taken over by the club at 196 East Delaware place, which have just been opened for use. Mrs. James Westfall Thompson, chairman of the rooms committee, headed the list of hostesses for the occasion. Tea was served from 3 until 6 o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. James Porter of Hub- bard Woods have with them during the holiday season, their three sons, Eliot Porter, who has returned from the Harvard Medical school; Edward Por- ter, who is at home from the Univer- sity of Wisconsin, and Fairfield Por- ter, who is a student at Harvard Uni- versity. Their son-in-law and daugh- ter, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Straus of Chicago joined their family for Christ- mas. --p-- Norman Sommer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sommer of Provident avenue, is home from St. John's Mil- itary academy for the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Sommer entertained in their son's honor at their home Saturday, December 19, at dinner and dancing. ---- Mrs. Katherine Brand of 797 Cherry street is spending the winter in Los Angeles, Cal.
