Mrs. Bartlett opened her program by telling the German legend of the Christ Child, following it with a group of short stories which she sang. Mrs. Arthur Byfield sang some of Mrs. Bart- lett's compositions and was accom- panied by Mrs. Dwight Orcutt. Mrs. Bartlett closed the program hy giving ""Twas the Night Before Christmas" set to music of her own composition. He will be awav several weeks. 5 the Masonic | | Hockeyites Open Schedule Sunday; Stage Game Here Hockey will make its bow before win- ter sport fans Sunday when the North Shore Hockey league opens its sched- ule with two games. Indian Hill will be the scene of the tilt between Evanston and Indian Hill and the other engagement will be played at Exmoor with Lake Forest and Highland Park providing the com- petition. All games of Exmoor, Evans- ton and Indian Hill will be played at 10:45 a. m. and at Lake Forest at 3 p. m. Prospects for one of the best seasons since the league was organized eight years ago are seen by officials of the league. Efforts to balance the four teams so that they will be as evenly | matched as possible have been made. The Indian Hill club was winner of the championship last season and plans to make a strong bid for first place again this year. The team is captained by Fred Copeland and has a number of prominent college stars in its line- up. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Robert Green and their two daughters, 791 Walden road, leave Sunday for Los Angeles and other interesting points. They will be away seven weeks, and shortly after their return, they will move into the house on Fuller lane which they pur- chased recently from the Frank G. Kanes. 2 Seniors of St. Mary's college, Notre Dame, Ind. gave a formal dance for the benefit of the college building fund at the Edgewater Beach hotel Monday evening, December 28. A large num- ber of Winnetka members of the St. Mary's alumnae association aided in making the affair a success.
