a A -- ho We -- A RS Sa January 9, 1926 WINNETKA TALK n Laborer Loses Life When Ditch Caves in Eric Van Rinsum, a laborer employed by the Kapschull-Davis company, con- tractors, was instantly killed Tuesday morning of this week when a ditch in which in which he was working caved in. The ditch is being dug in the south- east portion of Kenilworth, near Tenth street and Sheridan road. The man's neck was broken and Kenilworth po- lice were of the opinion that a heavy clod of earth struck him when the cave-in started. No one witnessed the accident, Van Rinsum's body being found when workmen noticed that the ditch had caved in, and investigated. Motorcycle Policeman Clement Ley of Kenilworth, who was riding past, took Van Rinsum to "The Shack," which is nearby, and summoned Dr. H. QO. Weis- haar of Wilmette, who pronounced the man dead. Van Rinsum's home was | said to be in St. Paul, Minn. He was 46 years of age. Chicago Woman's Club Resumes "Open Doors" Mrs. Harold Ickes of 900 Private road, is president of the Chicago Wom- an's club which, at 3 o'clock the. after- noon of January 3, renewed its Sunday | afternoon open door meetings in the | club rooms on the ninth floor of the Fine Arts building, Chicago. The club is again extending its hos- pitality to women who are in business during the week, and thus denied the pleasures and privileges of club life. A delightful program is planned each Sunday from 3 until 4, followed by tea. Everyone is most welcome. The Sunday "Open Doors" last for ten weeks. Mrs. Alexander S.
