C,, will meet with the Woman's club of Evanston in the clubhouse January 12, with the presi- cent, Mrs. William F. Farrell, presid- ing. The morning session will convene at 10 o'clock and will be a business ses- sion. . After the election of the nominating committee, there will be short reports from the state chairmen on the work of their departments. Luncheon will be served at 12:30. The afternoon program, starting at 1:45 o'clock, will be of unusual in- terest. The general federation will be rep- resented by two of its chairmen, Mrs. Alfred C. Tyler, who will give a short talk on "Motion Pictures," and Mrs. Martin Kent Northam, chairman of "Junior Membership," who will talk on that subject. Mrs. D. Pirie Beyea is the principal speaker of the day; her subject will be "The Menaces of Civilization." Mrs. Beyea is a speaker of rare excellence and her subject an interesting and timely one. Probably the most interesting part of the day will be the music furnished by the A Cappella Choir of North- western university. This is the only choir of its kind in America, singing without accompaniment. The mem- bers, an inspiring sight in their caps and gowns, will present the following numbers : GROUP I a. Bennett of 856 Sheridan road, Kenilworth, were hostesses at a progressive dinner given Thursday night by the bridge club composed of the young married set.
