The program gives promise of a very interesting afternoon, the lecture being "Period Furniture and Fabrics" by Mary Jane Allen. A large attendance is hoped for at this meeting. Chamber Will Stage Big Turkey Dinner Jan. 28 Members of the Winnetka Chamber of Commerce will gather in Rudolph Matz hall at the Community House on Thursday evening, January 28, at 7 o'clock, for a get-together dinner. There is to be a program which will make everyone agree that the dinner was "the cat's meow," it is said, but it is being kept secret. No secret is made of the menu, however, and it will include turkey, cranberry sauce and all the "fixings." It is expected that about 150 new members of the Chamber will attend and that it will be by far the largest dinner ever staged by the or- ganization. Tickets are now on sale, it was said. - Robert P. and John Mehren, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mehren of Walden road, left this week to return to their studies at St. Ambrose college, Davenport, Iowa, where Robert is a junior and John a freshman.
