Kinney has just returned from a three-days trip to Adventure Island boys' camp near Fish Creek, Wis., where he has met men at work filling the camp ice-house and getting out timber for building use. Mr. Kin- ney reports unusual activity in the Fish Creek and Ephraim region in pre- paration for the coming season. At Ephriam an 800 foot dock and break- water is being planned, which, when completed, will provide one of the best harbors on Green Bay for small craft. On Chamber's Island the new owner is having a dock built into water deep enough to float the largest steamers on the Lakes. Although his plans for developing the island have not been made public it is generally understood that the new owner plans to erect a large hotel this coming spring as a mucleus for making the island into an important summer resort. During the past two years every island in the region has been sold and improved with permanent summer houses by their owners. At the present time there are six summer camps in the vicinity of Fish Creek, patronized very largely by north shore boys and girls. Fach year a larger number of parents spend all, or part, of the sum- mer at the near-by resorts, attracted by the beauty and charm of the coun- try and its accessibility over. paved highways from Chicago. During the past summer the records of the Sturgeon Bay bridge showed an in- crease of 50 percent in summer visitors entering Door county over any pre- vious summer. Chicago Opera Company Plans Touring Season The current season of the Chicago Civic Opera company will draw to a close on Saturday, Jan. 23, after which that great lyric organization will enter upon a tour of colossal proportions. The traveling activities will open in Boston Monday, January 25. After visiting a number of the leading cities of the East the company will sing a ten-day engagement at Miami, Flor- ida. The principal cities of the South will be visited en route back to Chi- cago. No far-western territory will be covered as in former years. CIRCLE HOSTESS Mrs. Mary J.
