Today more suburban homes than ever before recognize this standard --Chicago Solvay Coke. In cleanliness, this fuel is standard because it burns with no smoke, no soot. In efficiency, it is standard because it contains more carbon--the eat-producing element--than hard coal. Being manufactured fuel, Chicago Solvay Coke is maintained at a uniform standard of quality. Always the same, it is the dependable fuel for your home. Jo one who ever burned this fuel has ever thought of it as a substitute fuel. Your estab- lished dealer will arrange to have a Service Man call to see that your heating plant -- hot air fur- nace, hot water boiler or stove--is delivering the maximum comforc from this standard fuel. WEISSENBERG Phone 12 Popularity of Auburn Puts Factory Behind The Auburn factory is behind in de- liveries according to the Bondurant Motor sales, Evanston dealers for the Auburn car. The export business alone requires more cars than the pres- ent factory is able to supply, say the age nts. The Bondurant Motor Sales calls at- tention to the long wheelbase of the Auburn models. The Evanston dealer believes that there is no substitute for wheel base to insure the easy riding qualities in a car. The Auburn fours, sixes, and eights have a wheelbase of 120, 121 and 129 inches respectively. The frames are heavier on the new models. EMULATE RARE HUES Lincoln Motor Car Company Research Experts Study Birds for Striking Color Contrasts The plumage of rare birds is the col- or inspiration of the new Lincoln bod- ies. The research department of the Lincoln Motor car company made a careful study of birds in the collection of the American Museum of Natural History and chose specimens having the lovliest plumage and striking color con- trasts. The color combinations are now shown on the custom built bodies of the Lincoln car. The Ditzler Color company spent many months in en- deavoring to match the colors. Not only were new colors discovered but new color combinations were found. The group of birds is in itself an interestng study ; for the specimens are from countries which are scattered far and wide over the globe--Western Un- ited States, Northern China and Southern Venezuela. The beauty of the birds does not depend necessarily on brilliancy of coloring. The Waxwings in their soft blended greys and browns, the pearl- grey sea swallow, are as pleasing to the eye as any of the showy tropical species. Artists and sculptors have long made use of the collection at the museum for inspiration. Silk manufacturers have successfully imitated many patterns from the birds. But Lincoln was the first car to have used these color schemes of unique beauty from the nlummage of fowls of the air. Mrs. Erskine Wilder of 1011 Green Bay road is entertaining this week her niece and nephew, Anne and Henry Peacock. ---- Mr. and Mrs. William Jerome Clark of 902 Pine street are leaving for an eastern trip about January 30. They will visit Boston and New York. Clean, Comfortable Cars J] FAST SUBURBAN WINNETKA - CHICAGO Through tickets also sold, sleeping car reservations made and baggage checked Ticket Agent--M. H.
