February 13, 1926 WINNETKA TALK 17 Sunday Club News by H. H. Fortunate indeed were the 40 Win- netka people who heard Miss Lillian Herstein last Sunday at the Sunday Evening club. Miss Herstein is at present a member of the faculty at Crane Junior college. She spoke on the subject: "Workers' Education," illustrating her talk from her personal experiences as an instructor in the Bryn Mawr school for industrial girls. Each summer, 100 industrial girls, rep- resenting cities all over the United States, meet at Bryn Mawr college for an eight-week course. This course is designed to give girls facts which will enable them to reach more intelligent solutions to labor questions. Classes are conducted most informally, and the discussion method is largely used. Each oirl is required to take one course in Economics and one in English Com- position and Literature. She is then allowed one elective. It is interesting to note that courses in science, poetry, and art seem to be the most popular. Miss Herstein related many unusual class-room episodes in a most graphic wav. The club has never had a more fascinating meeting To Winnetka people, Dr. J. W. F. "Chief" Davies needs no introduction. "Home Missions" is to be the subject of the next meeting, and Dr. Davies the speaker. Don't miss it, for it prom- ises to be as good a meeting as the last one. Supper, and a fire, will be waiting for you in the Camp Fire room, next Sunday at 6:30 o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. Robert O. Johnson of Cherry street left Friday for a ten day trip in the South. They will attend the Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and on their return will stop at Nashville and Charlotte, N. C., for a brief stay. | him to the honorary fraternity for men | | Wilmette Youth Achieves | Honor Rank at Illinois | Robert Garretson, son of Mr. and | Mrs. G. R.
