February 20, 1926 WINNETKA TALK 15 Announce Three Day Chicago Conference on Parent Education Mrs. Harold Ickes and Mrs. Ed- ward Loewenthal are vice chairmen of the Chicago Association for Child Study and Parent Education which is arranging a conference of psychol- ogists, psychiatrists, teachers, and physicians, to convene March 3, 4, and 5, in the Red Lacquer room of the Palmer House. The purpose of the conference is to instruct fathers and mothers how to succeed in bringing up their children. This association is made up of ten groups of parents in Chicago and on the north shore who meet regularly for the study of the problems of chil- dren. This conference is the first of its kind to be held in this part of the country. It will parallel in some ways, it is stated, the pioneer national con- ference held in New York under the auspices of the National Child Study association, with which the Chicago group is affiliated. Grace Abbott, head of the Children's bureau at Washington, Ernest Groves, professor of sociology at Boston uni- versity, Prof. Ralton Mayo, Prof. Pat- ty Smith Hill, Columbia university, Dr. Arnold Gessel of the Yale psycho- clinic, and Edna Noble White of the Merrill Palmer school of Detroit, will all take in the conference. STAGE MARDI GRAS TODAY Students of New Trier high school will attend a Mardi Gras staged by the French club of the school in the mess hall this afternoon. A program of en- tertainment and dancing has been pro- vided. The proceeds will be used for a scholarship fund to send some student to France to study next summer. K. of C. Sponsors Talk on Evolution This Week "Evolution in 1ts relation to Chris- tianity" was the subject of a lecture delivered at the Wilmette Woman's club last Monday evening under the auspices of the Ouilmette Council, K of C., by the Rev. F. J. Seidenberg, dean of the school of sociology and law at Loyola university. More than 400 persons attended the lecture which was in charge of the Rev. Francis Magner Budinger, chairman. There was also a musical program, consisting of vocal selections by Miss Rencke, of High- wood, accompanied by Miss Bradley, and piano numbers by Patrick Murphy. New Trier Students Go in Body to See Miracle Mort than 400 students of New Trier High school and their friends attended the matinee performance of "The Miracle" at the Auditorium thea- tre last Saturday. Tickets for the play were secured by H. H. Herron, an instructor at the school. A large group of students journeyed to the city together on the North Shore line. A number of members of the faculty accompanied the group.
