Country Towns to Follow Wilmette in Vote Campaign Wilnlette's 100 per cent Voting plan, adopted by leading organizations sev- eral weeks ago, is finding favor throughout the Greater Chicago area, it was learned this week in correspon- dence from State Representative How- ard P. Castle of Barrington who has informed Hoyt King, leading spirit in Wilmette's Voting campaign, that the towns of Barrington, Park Ridge, Des Plaines, Mount Prospect, Arlington Heights and Palatine are considering favorably a friendly contest to deter- mine which community can get out the largest percentage of voters in the April 13 Primary election. They in- vite Wilmette, originator of the plan, to join in the competition. "We are going to make an earnest effort to beat Wilmette so be on your guard," is Representative Castle's part- ing challenge to Mr. King. It is of particular interest to note that the Chamber of Commerce in the various communities noted above are taking a lead in the campaign to get out every eligible voter in the primaries. The Civic committee of the Wilmette Chamber of Commerce, John J. Moran, chairman, has assumed a active interest in the local campaign. The Union League club of Chicago recently adopted the Wilmette Voters Forum plan and secured the pledge of its membership to work in the interest of advising the voters of their respon- sibility at every election.
