March 6, 1926 WINNETKA TALK GLIMPSES OF SWEDEN | Winnetka Rotarians Enjoy Typical Swedish Luncheon and Hear Swedish Y. M. C. A. Leader One of the most delightful and in- | spirational sessions in the history of Winnetka Rotary was the one held at the home of Andrew W. Paulson, 1471 Tower road, last Friday, where a Swedish program, including food and speaker, was staged by Herbert Paul- son and Gustav Nelson. The setting, also was most appro- priate, being the unique home of Mr. Paulson, built almost entirely with his own hands, designed in style and decorations to be a replica of a typical Swedish home, even to the stork on the ridge pole. The speaker was the Rev. A. E. Rohrbach, of Stockholm, Sweden, and his talk was a most forceful and enthusiastic description of the Swedish nation and people, their culture and characteristics. The speaker was in- troduced by Mr. Nelson, followed by singing the Swedish national anthem. The delicious food, good fellowship and the inspiration of the speaker served to break down the barriers of reserve and the meeting ended with some of the best singing the club has done. It is pointed out that the in- ternational good will engendered by this meeting will serve to promote one of the main objects of Rotary. Mr. Rohrbach is visiting with his parents in Wilmette during his three months' vacation in this country from his arduous duties as traveling secre- tary of the Y. M. C. A. in Sweden. He spoke at the Scandinavian church in Winnetka last Wednesday evening and will speak again at the same place on the evening of March 10. Personal friends of Mr. Rohrbach relate a pleasing incident which oc- curred in the life of this gentleman, when he was decorated by the King of Sweden for saving the life of a son in the royal family. Mr. Rohrbach is not only a personal friend of the King but also of Prince Bernadotte, a brother of the King.
